I agree 100%. A lot of these people would learn much from an analysis of the team spacing, the efficiency of the high center screens to initiate the offense, the efficiency of having 2 primary ball handlers running the offense, etc. Many of the Clutch Fans more experienced members would weigh in with their well considered opinions. Maybe I will start a new thread.

i played along anyways = i replied at all depsite your obvious agenda to stifle out any discussion negative to the coaching staff in this forum and despite your obviously hostile prosecutorial rapid fire 5 questions in one breath tone

as far as this "can you prove the team played worse due to benching" paragraph you keep copy and pasting from post to post -- it's the same premise that you hide behind with mchale's errors saying that they can't be proven. you don't want to talk about mchale's errors b/c u say it's impossible to prove that they exist or otherwise, but the same time you insist on seeing proof of the cause & effect relationship of benching, as if there are metrics on some bball stat website that will show actual effort versus expected effort for every player on every roster. and then you have the gall to call me disingenuous

-Proven winner time and time again
-Hall of Fame coach that's regarded as one of the best in the history of the NBA
-Success coaching superstars - Malone, Stockton, Deron Williams
    -Xs and Os coach

Like all coaches he has his negatives too, but the positives far outweigh the negatives.

McHale definitely minimizes Lin's playing time, but not for the reasons the LOFS cry about. He has said (repeatedly) that Lin is still basically a rookie and is inconsistent. What does that mean? Well, that would make him the least experienced player in the starting lineup. What does that mean? Of course less playing time.

I agree Jerry Sloan... but would be a hard sell in Houston as quite a lot of folks here are still bitter over the Jazz (Stockton +Malone+Sloan) team

Uh, you really need to take Deron Williams off your list.

    Deron Williams hated him.

The guy is a dictator. He left his team because he couldn't get along with his "superstar" player. That is a very big criteria for a great coach that he failed at. After 20yrs of HOFer stability with Malone and Stockton, when he could make anyone do his bidding as long as Malone was as much as dick has him, he still had a lot of talent (Boozer falling into his lap, getting a high draft pick for Deron).

But in the end, without Malone and Stockton, he lost connection with his best player, lost his lockerroom, and then quit.

Those are facts. The dude is a control freak.

Compare that to JVG...player after player after player always praises JVG for helping their game, and they would go to war for him. I'm not saying I want JVG back...I'm just saying Jerry Sloan is a dicktator to his players...like Bobby Knight type of dicktator.

Finally someone admits the obvious - that Lin's playing time is being minimized. The theory that he is the least experienced and that is why is easily disproved. McHale substituted Beverley for Lin with 3 minutes left in the 3rd Q and then played him the whole 4th Q and Lin never got back in the game. So someone who was playing for a 2nd tier team overseas, had about 20 minutes NBA playing time and who had never practiced with the team played the last 15 minutes of the game over the starting PG who had over a years experience as a starting NBA PG. How does your theory of inexperience explain that?

Vinny Del Negros contract is up at the end of the season so would you take him or no?

But McHale doesn't know how to coach and we should have 10 more wins and be 3rd seed.

Deron Williams hated him, then admitted that Sloan's system made him who he is.
