You're not getting gordon for lin + crap. He's never stayed healthy for a full season and his knees are getting worse and worse. Not even sure he'd be an upgrade over Lin considering he'd only be playing probably 40 games per season. Then who do you have running point?

I think you are a little confused. While a team may only have to PAY a player acquired at the deadline for the remaining games left on the schedule, the player's CAP FIGURE never changes.

Lin and Asik (and Landry Fields) are very, very rare exceptions as players signed to contracts under the Arenas Rule. Their cap figures are different from their actual salaries (i.e., what it shows on their W-2 at the end of the year), although they'll each end up getting their total contract value by the time their contract expires. Don't let these cases confuse you that those unique rules apply to any other players. It is highly unlikely you'll see more than 2-3 players league-wide sign contracts like that at any point in the next few years.

Josh Smith counts $13.2 million against the cap on Day 1 of the season, and he counts $13.2 million on the day of the trade deadline. It's just that Les Alexander would only need to PAY the remaining 33% or so of his salary if he were acquired at the deadline. But that doesn't help in making a trade work under the salary cap rules.

    Hope that helps.

For those that think Lin will be gone if Gordon lands in Houston, are you actually 100% convinced that Harden will thrive as a PRIMARY POINT GUARD, where he would be mainly a facilitator, and be asked to pass more than shoot?

Isn't that kinda a huge waste of his talents?

Also, I think Chandler Parsons is underrated. You can count on one hand, the number of forwards that averaged 14 points PER36, 5 rebs PER36, 3 assist PER36, and shoots over 47% during their 2nd year since the 2000-2001 season.

    Lebron James
    Blake Griffin
    Wally Szczerbiak
    Chandler Parsons

Between Gordon and Howard, Rockets fans are pumped up for the next generation of players to be on the roster yet rarely on the court.

If Morey didn't resign Dragic because of the player option I'm sure he'd like to have an injury prone guard signed to the max with a trade kicker and player option. LOL I'm a big fan of EG but the problem is he has the Yao Ming "when healthy" tag. I'm pretty sure DM has no interest in EG.

More to the point New Orleans has a high impact franchise player already, why would they trade Gordon when he's still young enough to mesh with Davis and form a deadly one-two punch unless they think he's damaged goods?

Harden would be playing the same role he plays now. Gordon would be playing Lin's role, but much much better.

I think Morey believes that in order to be competitive, you need two combo guards in the back court that can both shoot and create, which means teams can't afford to trap.

Chandler is underrated by the media because he's in Houston, but I think among players he's rated highly, which is the only rating that matters.

Because Jones got called up to the Rockets squad.

Therefore he's ineligible for the D-League all-star game.

Either we want him with the team over the weekend, or we want him with another team over the weekend.

Methinks the first reason is a little cruel, why make the bloke miss an all-star game just to hang with the squad?
    Soooo?

I think I know what be going on yo.

Parsons, Jones, and filler (including picks of course)
    FOR
    Gordon and Jason Smith

    Harden/Lin
    Gordon/Anderson
    Delfino/???
    Patterson/J. Smith
    Asik/G. Smith

Hardena and Gordon beasing as combo guards, Lin coming off the bench being agressive, Asik playing tough D.
    Would be AWESOME.

Pretty sure players can waive their trade kicker?

I might be wrong on this, but I assume he agreed to the trade kicker with PHX, and then NO matched the contract, so it applied to them... if he wants out of there, he might just waive it?

Any chance they asked him his opinion and he'd rather be in Houston for the break? Maybe they don't want him further showcased in a D- League All-Star game?

No. Gordon and Harden are the same player. Unless Gordon wants to be our sixth man he has no place on this team.
