Well, I personally try to not let emotions cloud my judgement. So no, McHale does not suck. He is most probably an average NBA head coach (as his record would suggest) but IMHO is currently is the right coach for this Rockets squad. The players are giving 100%, they are learning, they are improving at a rapid pace, they have not one ounce of quit in them, the offense is beginning to flow seamlessly against many of the NBA teams (but not against the best defensive teams that is for sure), the rookies are being brought along at a very reasonable pace, and they are succeeding beyond any reasonable expectation for the season. What more can you ask out of a team and a coach?
I don't think McHale is the worst coach in the league, but I do think we could do better. Which is why I'd rather cut him lose. Would rather have Stan Van Gundy or Jerry Sloan (he's not a Jazzhole anymore).
I quoted his record as an NBA coach which is 102-113 and that is a fact not an emotion. As far as being the right coach for this team I disagree with you. The only thing that will save McHale from being fired is the excellent character and talent of the young squad he has. He should count himself as lucky to have them but I doubt that he does. The teams talent and character are making him look good not vice-versa. You are implying that his coaching is the major factor for their slightly above average record so far. I think you're wrong about this - they are suceeding in spite of his coaching.
It's better than Dream Shake. I got my "final warning" because I said **** McHale, then banned when I wrote a post saying I didn't think that was trolling. Place is a total joke, admins are pathetic nerdy college kids who probably could only dream about being even decent at basketball.... Or any other sport for that matter.
You do not understand. McHale is Morey's coach, with Morey chosen assistant coaches. McHale is implementing the team strategy based on Morey's wishes. That way Morey's analysis and statistical approach is put to use every day. Why do you think that Addeled-man was fired? Because he would not coach as Morey desired. So McHale will be fired right after Morey is escorted to the door. Expecting that soon? My guess that McHale will retire from coaching in the next 2 years to take a cushy FO job though. And how are the T-wolves doing under Addeled-man? About as good as the Lakers under another Clutch fan favorite D'Antonio? Now there are two disasters you should be focusing on. So.Far.Below.Expectations.
.... Some sites don't want that type of behavior. "**** McHale", doesn't add anything to the conversation. I personally like TheDreamShake for that reason.
It seems we now have LOFs creating alternate user names just to argue with themselves - truly a new low. Sorry Clutch.
I guess you don't remember what it was like when he was here, the ONLY way he played rookies was if he wasn't given a choice either by injury or by Morey trading the alternatives away to force his hand. McHale isn't the best coach, but I'm really really glad Adelman is gone.
So Morey signed Asik and Lin to 3 year 25 million dollar contracts so McHale could bench them for extended periods and in the 4th quarter? That's what Morey's analysis and statistics came up with? It doesn't make sense. By the way don't look now but the D'Antoni and Laker "disaster" is breathing down our necks.
My goodness Minnesota has more injuries this season than the Roy/Oden Trailblazers plus Yao/TMac Rockets worst injury seasons combined. The issue is, if McHale is just implementing Morey's offense, and it appears so because McHale never implemented any of these schemes in his last stints as coach at Minnesota, then he's easily replaceable. A better choice would be someone who's better at in-game stuff but can still use the best of Morey's offense.
Both Asik and Lin have conditioning issues which leads to them needing more rest...No one is out to get Lin or Asik.
