Haven't read the thread. Would love to have this guy. Wasn't crazy about it when the Rockets wanted him pre-Harden. Now it sounds great. I like him even over Dwight right now. Harden/Gordon/Asik stacks up with Lebron/Wade/Bosh pretty favorably.
Gordon is already having issue's with his knees this early stage of his career. Cant even play more than 34 minutes a game, must avoid imo.
I have mixed feelings about Gordon. He's great when he's healthy - he's just so rarely healthy. It also seems weird for our second best player to ideally play the same position our first best player ideally players. I do think Harden can play small forward. We have had success with 6'5 small forwards in the past (have so many of you really forgotten the kiss of death?), but I'd feel a lot better about that if he was better on the defensive end.
If Gordon is supposedly acceptable to a lot of fans, why isn't Bynum? If I'm gonna roll the dice on max players with severe knee problems, why not go for the 7foot freak? And at least Bynum has played an 82-game season. Isn't even a Josh Smith for 82 games better than Eric Gordon for 40? I just don't get it.

So any trade involving him would need his approval. All indications are he wants to leave NO but for now he has control over where he goes if traded. This stipulation ends July 2013
Parsons would not be moved guys. I'm sure they'd have him play PF. I can't imagine the Rockets making this trade. This would only work if we planning on firing McHale for Don Nelson.
Bynum's issues aren't just injury related. They're also motivation related. From all accounts he plays just for the paycheck. That coupled with injuries is a big risk, because you question if he's tanking the recovery when he's injured. Josh Smith vs. Gordon to me comes down to price. It seems like Josh Smith can get a bigger contract than Gordon, who will have 3 years left at the minimum-Max(~14mil/yr).
It's probably has been mentioned, but if the Rockets are truly sold on a 3-guard lineup, Mayo becomes an interesting possibility in the offseason.
Fair point about Bynum's immaturity and lack of heart. I still don't think you risk $14 mil for the next 3years on a guy who's never played a full season.
I just played the ESPN trade machine. And we can actually get him by trading Aldrich, Patrick Patterson, Toney Douglas and either Carlos Delfino or Chandler Parsons. Wow..
um... no. lin alone is a $8m trade chip. throw in one or two pfs from our pf platoon, salaries will be close. that's hardly gutting the team. i won't lose sleep over losing any of them, and will gladly wave goodbye to the gazillion LOFs. of course health is a real concern, but other than that I've not seen anybody give any legit reason why we shouldn't make this trade. I'd be willing to take this risk any day of the week.
Morey could possibly working on a three team trade are he intends on having Harden in Gordon in the backcourt and Lin coming off the bench... Nice
I think that would be way too much money tied up in the backcourt. The front court would be extremely thin and you need a dominant force up front to contend.
