I just don't believe Morey will spend max money on another SG when we already have one of the best in the league. I think it's more likely a 3 way where Gordon will go to a third team for someone Morey really wants. Could Minnesota be interested in Gordon?
I would do this Gordon & Jason Smith for Delfino, Patterson, Aldrich, Jones & Motiejunas Lin / Gordon / Harden / Parsons / Asik Douglas or Beverley / Morris / Greg Smith / Jason Smith Parsons might be added in the trade in all cases but if Morey can keep Parsons I will never ever give Morey grief again
Hoops Hype has them at 5,225,000 a year but who knows...espn trade machine has them at 8.3 million IDK man i just usually go off of Hoops Hype cause they usually have information right
Well, they have the correct information for the amount Lin and Asik are being paid this season. However, both players are $8.3million against the cap. So if you want a 'cap number' Hoopshype aren't helping you there.
I think they might be referring to the salary cap amount for the remainder of the season. For instance, Omer's not going to count for 8.3m against the cap all year, just on day 1 before he's been paid for seasonal play if that makes sense.
I'm putting the word out! Gordon will be Morey's ASSET TO LATER TRADE HIM FOR KEVIN LOVE. That's IF Morey gets Gordon...
Can't see us acquiring him, as others have said a three team trade makes the most sense. If this nets us Kevin Love, I will be head over heels for Morey.
So why don't they do that for every player on every team? Just for Lin and Asik? No, what is happening is that hoopshype is reporting the amount they are getting paid, and NOT the cap hit amount. This has been discussed 4019209501724863057 times. $8.3m against the cap.
Well then hoopshype sucks, 2k does the same thing I think Bima at some point has referenced this, that we have the most (or close to the most, I don't recall) remaining cap for the year to play with. For example, despite Josh Smith making 13mil on the season or whatever he makes, at this point he would only count for around half of that because the season is halfway over. All in all it doesn't hurt the sake of anyone's argument, I was just trying to come up with some kind of reason as to why hoopshype had a different number. Turns out they just don't understand the contract that the player was signed to and how it was counted cap wise vs actual salary wise.
Gordon would play PG if the Rockets traded for him and Lin would likely be shipped out to open up more cap space. Gordon hasn't played up to his standard in the ~20 games he's played this year, but neither has Love or Dwight - the other two all-star players Morey probably covets most - so I can definitely see Moreu being interested. Then again, multiple sources.
Don't think he's effective as PG, neither would he benefit from it. Takes away all his scoring strenghts off the ball.
No way is Lin going anywhere this season, unless it's for CP3.:grin:I'm sure Samspon and McFail would love to send him to play with White though.
Definitely. Minny's weakness is at SG. If they believe Derrick Williams can be their long term solution at PF, then it makes complete sense. The question is how would Houston work themselves into this trade?
