I'm not cap expert, so I could be wrong. But like I said earlier, theoretically if we ship out same amount of salaries in the trade, how does that eat up the cap space? What am I missing here?

Not saying their teams will trade them. But they will become FA soon (Howard this year and LeBron next year I believe). Then you have two options:
    (1) Pick them up in the FA market. In that case, what do you think is more attractive? Harden and a bunch of role players, or Harden and EGO?
    (2) S&T with Lakers/Heat, with EGO being a much better asset we can offer.

And those aren't the only big name FAs. KLove/LMA etc are still out there.

It's not a sure thing Howard will pick Hou in the offseason. Heck, it's not even a sure thing if Howard will even leave Lakers. You never know what's in that DIVA's head. A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.

Again, explain to me why those reasons aren't legit?

harden at sf? i don't think so

i think lin would be gone, leaving harden at PG and EGO at SG

Ah, that's true, so you are suggesting we gut the roster to match salaries....fair enough. I'm not for that.

As to Lebron James, he's NOT coming to Houston, it shouldn't be mentioned again.

As to Gordon as a trade asset, you would have to give away half the team and all the trade assets to get him if you want to match salaries, so getting him would make any trade more difficult to pull off. In no way does getting a backup SG, Gordon, help the Rockets.

Doesn't it make much more sense for Morey to be using EGO to facilitate a 3 team trade? Only seems logical IMO knowing how opportunistic Morey is.

Harden's strong enough, no need to even look this up. So no worries there. Harden's wingspan is 6'11, the same 6'11 wingspan Iggy has, just a inch off of melo's 7ft wingspan. Length, also isn't a issue. So...if his lenght, and strenght are right there with other star 3's, why the hell would he be mminiature forward my friend? Because his neck isn't long enough, or because his forhead is big enough?

    It might do?

Phoenix wants Gordon, and they can't get him direct from New Orleans. Can we facilitate that deal by bringing Gordon here and then shuffling him on immediately? Or is he simply banned from being traded to them altogether?

Smith and Jones has been called up??? You only can trade players who are in the NBA at the time a trade happens...well expect a trade to happen might not be Gordon but someone that can help us in the near future

Gordon cannot be traded without consenting to it, and can't be traded to Phoenix until July 14th.

The vipers' next game is 2 days after the rockets next game. Doubt their call ups are trade related.

Yea I noticed that too. May not be a trade though, they call up players during long breaks to practice with the team and then send them back down.

Not necessarily. If the rockets trade Lin (+ Patterson/filler), they can keep most of their cap room for FA and make a move for one of the Jazz bigs or Josh Smith who I doubt ends up making the max. But, even if this trade happened, I think Morey would consider hanging onto the cap space to make a bigger trade (something like Parsons+picks+cap relief for disgruntled superstar or high potential player)

Thats stupid...He needs the ball to create and we have enough trouble sharing the ball as it is.
