Pete's Piano Bar is supposed to open in the Pavilions in January last I heard. I haven't really been to Houston in years, but I'm going to get them to let me play a week down there so I'll get to visit my friends that I don't ever get down there to see. I'm pretty pumped about that.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought it would be better to just bump this one and to ask this in here... since Houston is growing in population and the economy is relatively better than most other cities around the country, why aren't we seeing more projects? Or are there new projects proposed that I'm missing?

There are a few that are talked about here and there. Some off the top of my head:

    - 350 acre Exxon campus near Woodlands, where they are consolidating all of their people
    - New downtown hotel overlooking Discovery Green with lazy river and pool shaped like Texas
    - Hines is looking to building another one or maybe even two buildings near BG Group Place. There is a lot of office demand for newer, high end Class A buildings.
    - Generation Park on NE side of town. 4000 acre business park that has sold about 500 acres of land to various companies.

I've heard about the Exxon campus.

The downtown hotel project sounds nice.

I also saw something about a condo building near the Galleria area being discussed.

I am currently working on the Exxon Project with my Company. This is the single greatest Construction project I have worked on in my 15+ years in the industry. It is an amazing engineering marvel.

Multiple office towers being built in Energy Corridor out west. Continued expansion with new office/retail space in CityCentre.

If you got $10mil to spend. Hehe. Also, I would never put my maid that close to my bedroom.

It looks like the Master suite is up and not at the same level as the help.

Chevron will be building a new building downtown

Exxon's downtown building is going to be refaced and renovated once exxon leaves

Hines is about to start block 69

    West Houston is flipping crazy

The Woodlands has Hughes Landing on fire (along with Warmack's development)

A new residential tower is in the works for downtown

Macy's is trying to find a location to stay downtown

the Macy's is going to be home of new office tower

suprisingly Generation Park actually has a couple of deals signed now (FMC, Aker)

they've been pimping forever and I wondered if they would every get something going - well, they've got their foot in the door.

It is also my understanding that Hines has someone queued up and ready to go at 69 (have my guesses, but nothing confirmed)

You are missing something. City is booming. The list of new developments is long and continually growing.

Houston is a work and live city, so it's no surprise most of our construction are business offices and living spaces. What were you looking for? Earthquest Adventures?

    hahah

not to mention that retail generally follows rooftops and rooftops follow jobs - so the office components are generally precursors

Between Waugh and Shepherd, as well. Area is going to suck when 5,000 more people are supposed to move into a four block radius.
