one i've come to expect from a commissioner who consistently puts league showmanship above quality basketball.
I kinda mentally checked out when they talked about Tom Cruise & Top Gun, although I probably wouldn't have picked up anything about EGO anyway, as I haven't followed that thread at all. What was the Clutchsanity thing?
Unless we get a star PF, I'd like the team to think different and sign a particular type of player... someone that plays mostly above the rim. Obviously getting someone like Serge Obaka or Kenneth Faried is unrealistic, but that type of player... someone that blocks shots and scores off the dunk. Larry Sanders would be the best case, but again, probably not realistic. How about James Johnson (now with SAC) or Tristan Thompson (CLE)? Love someone providing weakside help for Omer (and when Asik is on the bench) and taking the ball to the hoop hard.
He has been asked that question before a few times. His response is usually to say that it wouldn't be fair to the other players on their roster to say that publicly. Its sort of a slight on the other players by saying they aren't viewed as potential franchise players/all-stars.
Did I hear that wrong? Sounded like he said (referring to Royce white) "...he need to ramp up his meds..."
More Morey: "Do you feel terrible for Geoff Petrie?" <iframe width="658" height="371" scrolling="no" src="http://www.sports790.com/player/embed.html?autoStart=false&useFullScreen=true&mid=22906692&osu=null&startButtonColor=0xffffff" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" ></iframe> Morey re: McHale comments that trade unlikely "Usually Tuesday, Wednesday we've got about 20 things we're working on and 1 will happen. Yesterday we had 3 things we were working on and 2 things happened." "Very surprised" none of the bigger names got moved. Also, JVG: <iframe width="658" height="371" scrolling="no" src="http://www.sports790.com/player/embed.html?autoStart=false&useFullScreen=true&mid=22906591&osu=null&startButtonColor=0xffffff" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" ></iframe>
I loved it more when he said right after, "it was a fair trade, honest" and the host laughed his butt off, lol.
The more I read up on it, the more I think that they got robbed. All the blogs and forums are talking about how he was picking up his game and showing the promise that he showed.. just 3,4 months ago!! He still has the athleticism, the work ethic, just never got properly adjusted due to the crazy atmosphere in Sacramento. I'm hoping that he is a true 5th pick, and I wouldn't be all too surprised, if he showcases his talents here. Murray ftw!
^Those two interviews deserve their own thread imo. JVG hit on some really good points without being a homer, although I do disagree with him classifying James Harden as a "top 15 player". But he was down to earth about the Ppat trade - really, he has some valid points. Overall, the Sactown trade was good, because I don't see TRobb's floor as anything worse than a Ppat, but in terms of affecting the offense leading up to the playoffs? Houston doesn't have any other stretch 4 that can shoot the ball as well as PPat and be decent defensively as well. You have Dmo and TJones, but neither of those two players are decent 3pt shooters against NBA-level competition and their defense is shaky at best.
Today's interview: <iframe width="658" height="371" scrolling="no" src="http://www.sports790.com/player/embed.html?autoStart=false&useFullScreen=true&mid=22930078&osu=null&startButtonColor=0xffffff" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" ></iframe> Haven't had a chance to listen to it myself.
Bucks game: -Bucks one of worst games of the year, main thing perimeter d -Three different coverages for pick and roll, requires execution, changing team (trades) doesn't help -Close games hard to control. Bucks a good team. DMo: -DMo fits really well, pairs well with Asik as Asik covers weaknesses in rebounds & D. -Spaces floor well, getting better in D. -DMo ability to make plays for others not something he had expected. -Want DMo to make quick decisions so can use speed other: -Still may add player this year. maybe. -mitssae.com if interested in streaming sloan analytics conference -Likes Stevie Nicks, seen fleetwood mac more than once. Met the band. Lucky dog.
.... that interview started with a replay of ells' game-winner. just a fair warning for those who are still pissed. fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
To follow up on this: Morey was asked about potentially adding a 3rd PG with the roster at 15. Morey's answer: "We're looking pretty close at some different additions. Not really sure which ones will pan out, but we're definitley looking closely at adding another player to the roster." I could be wrong, but it sounded to me like he they aren't just considering PGs. Either way, it sure seems like it will be only a matter of time before Honeycutt gets cut. It's MITSSAC.com Costs $21.
