lol wtf? The training staff needs to tell Dmo to put on more weight. You can increase weight and still keep up your speed. There are a ton of workout programs that athletes from all sports follow to gain mass and keep your speed. Like everyone including me says in this forum, he just needs more muscle and he could step up to other bigs in the league.

Didn't say he was the only one. But DMo always looked to me like he could do McHale's moves.

Ewing was JVG's assistant, remember. And Deke was Yao's sparring partner. JVG knew how to surround Yao with HOF people to help him excel.

McHale is perfect for teaching DMo. imo, Hakeem is better for guys like Melo and Lebron.

This is just a discussion about teachers.

I called it a couple months ago. DMO is probably more ready that we thought.

I don't know. I just think if any big man could do Hakeem's moves, it's DMo. He has that rare quickness for a 7-footer.

McHale was more crafty than quick, the rich man's Scola, if you will.

Anyway, CD is a proven teacher of big men. There's a reason the Rockets have had so many great low post players.

I know, but in reality, Dream only gives short session. And I prefer a HOFer for DMo over Dawson. DMo has an attitude to him where I think he will listen better to a HOFer.

Maybe it's because we had 3 #1 picks and got Malone out of free agency. Just saying.

We don't have a great record with PFs.

D-Mo's listed weight is 225. He's gotten up to 245, so he has put on more weight. If he's gained 15-20 lbs in half a year (I think we can tell), thats a good amount

He's saying he doesnt want to bulk up any more past that if it means he loses more speed. I'd tend to agree because he's ALREADY put on more weight. He should adjust to his current weight before packing on more pounds.

If he's saying he only wants to keep speed without considering more weight, then thats not a good thing. But he needs to add power to his frame regardless

D-Mo can still get stronger and be more of a finesse 4. I think this is what he means. Just look at Bosh, you look at him he doesn't really seem strong.

A lot of PFs look bigger than him but it never really matters. I can't blame D-mo, he can be a complete finesse big man and dominate there, as long as they aren't trying to make him a center.

He'll start to get a lot of calls any ways in todays NBA.

Why is everybody demanding that he put on more weight? Dirk has been an effective low post player at his weight, same for KG and LMA. If the guy is comfortable at 245 then let him stay there.

I think its technique that will help keep DMO upright a little more often. Tonight I noticed that sometimes when he positions himself his feet are close together and he doesn't anchor himself well when he is establishing himself in the post. I think it contributes to his problem of being pushed around. When he got pushed outta bounds and when he fell down in tonight's game he didn't set his feet well.

I really hope we get to watch him develop here in Houston, there is so much freakin potential. I'd much rather lose Jones,Morris or 2pat.

I see what your saying. It doesn't seem like he's put bulk in the right places...lol. But hes surrounded by pro-trainers so what do I know...you'd think that 15-20 pounds added to his frame you'd see more lean muscle on his upper body or core. tonight i saw him fall twice just from running into players.

    This^^^^
D-Mo is by far the best center in the nba already. In 3 more days he will be the best player to ever live. Its like having Kobe, MJ, Mcgrady, Hakeem, Akeem, Mchale and Moochie Norris all in one. D-Mo is also the fastest player in the nba and in time he will not allow one single point to be scored down inside. On top of that he is going to make more 3's than Reggie Miller ever dreamed of. The only thing D-Mo is bad at is being bad at something.

The amount of sarcasm in this thread is too damn high.

I would like to see D-Mo get rotation minutes off the bench.
