I'm sure a lot of players do that but won't come out and say it. Lost a bit of respect for him though, he needs to worry about getting a championship, not freaking statistics. Lol @ WB's reaction, he's going to throw any shot up he wants, regardless of statistics. Something our good old Maxwell knows a little something about ;)

Kind of weird considering his field goal percentage is GREAT. I'm sure a few buzzer beaters wont drop it below 50..

I used to suspect Tmac did the same when he played for the rox. Too many instances where he would just dribble out the clock.

I mean it makes sense...a lot of fans and analysts judge a player solely off of their stats so why take a 1 in 100 chance when it could drop your shooting% by 5 to 10 points.
It is funny to think about what the reaction would be if LeBron said this (especially if he said it before winning a championship)

He might have incentives in his contract that pay him extra if he maintains a certain efficiency. If he does, they pay him to not shoot that shot.

I hate when players dribble out the clock to protect their percentages. Those three points could be the difference between a win or loss.

Morris is the king of the last second chuck, probably my favorite thing about him. 0.6 seconds left and hes underneath his own basket, you can bet hes gonna try

LBJ does it also, but he won't admit it. Watched yesterday's game and he had plenty of time to shoot but he dribbled one more time and shot it half a second after the buzzer. He made the shot also lol

This should be expected with all the emphasis on FG%, EFG%, TS% etc. but I'm still a little disappointed. I preferred to believe that Durant had winning and only winning on his mind.

He should have at least said he won't take these shots on nights he isn't shooting the ball well because he wants easy shots to get into a rythm or even because he is superstitious about taking difficult shots on a bad shooting night.

    C'mon people....it ain't a big deal...

No doubt Durant would take a reasonable shot. If it's within 40 feet or so? I'd bet he'd take it every time. But if we're talking full court heaves? Who cares? Those go in 1-150 times.

This has no repercussions on his "desire to win" and such.

Battier used to do that. He said he would wait until the clock expired, THEN heave it up so nobody got mad at him but his FG would not go down.

Durant said he really wanted to be apart of the 50-40-90 club this season.
