no idea on the first part, but last part sounds like a trade for deron (1-2 punch, daily planet)

"a killer shooting a German car"

Deron left Dirk hanging at the alter last summer by going to Brooklyn.

Hmmmmm. I wonder if the back to the future comment meant that Howard could go to the same specialist that McGrady visited to get his back fixed. McGradys' knee is what ruined his career, not his back.

Then THAT Dr. would have two in common. Bynum along with Bryant have already gone to Germany, so Howard would be the third.

I hate LA. Good for him, he doesn't owe the fans or that franchise anything. DH has gone that route already, talking about his future or lackthereof in Orlando, didn't work out too well. Just play (or not) and see where things fall.

I think Dwight wants out of LA. Just my opinion. I'm under the impression that this is all humbling and if he is to regain his health, DH will be a better player because of it.

I'm now in the camp that thinks this whole thing is about the Rockets plans to woo Dwight Howard over the summer. No glitz, no paradise, no spotlights.....just a hard working, young team that could potentially transform into a contender with the addition of someone like Howard. It's not going to be pretty getting back into shape, but the Rockets are going to need him to do it if this is going to work. Schrodinger was into the concept of dual realities, and the idea that both could potentially be true, until one identified itself to be true over another. In this case, the dual realities are that Dwight could be traded at the deadline....or he could not. The reason to hate Schrodinger in this case would be if Dwight DOES get traded (despite the Lakers denying it), then that could very well throw a monkey wrench in our plans to get him in the off-season....assuming he gets traded to a team that he's happy to play for in the long-term.

It doesn't have to be a single 5-team trade; Atlanta-Dallas for Josh Smith could be a separate deal. D12, of course, was involved in a 4-team trade so it is not out of the realm of possibilities that it wouldn't happen to him again.

How do you get "BIG TIME LOVE" to US without giving up someone like Lin?

    Back to the Future: Nash+Nowitzki & Lin+D'Antoni
(Nowitzki has a no trade clause; must consent to trade)

And, of course, this might have to do with Harden "wooing" DH12, who might not have expressed any interest (as of yet) in playing here.

Granted, Harden + DH12 is a championship-caliber team. But it would probably also involve a trade so he doesn't lose money.

I wouldn't say this is about a gonna-happen-next-week trade. In which case, we'll all have to sit back and mutter "WTF" until the first week of July.

The Rockets are in a good position because they are one of the few teams (Dallas and Atlanta being the others) that can offer Dwight max money without having to give up anything in a trade. However, the one thing the Rockets have that the Mavs and Hawks DON'T have is a young, marketable team with a very bright future ahead of them. Dallas basically needs to be taken to the glue factory with all the aging players they have on their roster, plus the fact that they have nothing to offer Dwight that Houston doesn't have as well financially. Atlanta is his hometown (where he supposedly has no interest going back), but outside of that, there is little else they can offer. Josh Smith has one foot out the door, and they are very mediocre in terms of actual marketable talent. James Harden, Chandler Parsons, and Jeremy Lin are likeable personalities, both on and off the court. Unless Dwight re-signs in LaLaLand, I'd say the Rockets have the best shot at signing him as a free agent. I don't think this is going to be quite like his last go-around with Houston....all of a sudden, this is a team that players can envision themselves playing for.

I don't care what anybody says, as long as Dwight has been in the league he STILL hasn't been able to choose which team he wants to play for. That's his right & he's definitely earned it.

But am I correct in thinking that in order for Dwight to leave LA and sign outright with Houston in the offseason, he has to be willing to take less money? Can't LA offer him more money and more years? There was a pretty big consensus last go-around that he wasn't going to do that ...for any team, which is why he forced a trade out of Orlando.

The new CBA makes SnTs less attractive if I am not mistaken. So he may leave out right.

I don't now how big of a difference there is between a contract with us or signing with the lakers though.

How does Doc's newest post relate to his original post? They seem like completely unrelated messages.
