People spend 40 bucks on Starbucks a week sometimes.

It's about time people supported food done right.

Sure, part of it is just a premium on a fun time for a once-a-year event. I guess it'd be like going to Fogo for lunch.

Gatlin's is easily the best brisket I had in Houston.

Worst sauce would have to go to Goode Co

    It's rare indeed

Greg Gatlin is a Rice grad, by the way, so by definition he must be at the top of his field! ;)

    The County Line in Champions.

A little pricey, but very good.

Rice athletics are far superior to those of Southwest Texas State Teachers College

I live down the street from Gatlins. Love their turkey. Food is def better than most bbq places around town.

    As mentioned, Gaitlin's is good.

Brisket House is pretty decent, but apparently they don't really smoke their bbq. They usually have (different) cute girls working the register too.

Rudy's is never a bad choice either, especially with the creamed corn.

I think Goode Co is terrible. I've gone numerous times, and every time I always wonder why it not only has the reputation that it has, but how it stays in business. What am I missing about it?

I don't know why everybody here hates Goode Co.

Maybe I just don't have a very refined taste when it comes to BBQ, but Goode Co is way better than Demeris. That place sucks.

I feel that Brisket in general is overrated. I don't care for it too much.

Yeah I know its a Texas cardinal sin to say anything about brisket, but I've been to Salt Lick and their ribs were fantastic but the brisket left me disappointed yet again.

Maybe I just need a point in the right direction.

    Try Gatlin's.

When I was in Memphis, people thought I was crazy when I asked for brisket. It makes me sad. It really is a good piece of meat that can be done so well.

Goode Co. isn't terrible but for the price isn't worth it to me. Goode Co. does have some crack laced pecan pie though. Brisket is awesome when done right, but when done wrong tastes like garbage.

I don't know how other people are but when I try a new bbq place I order brisket, sausage and ribs just to try a little bit of everything. I never really care about poultry at bbq places.
