He was fighting with Thabo and Brooks obviously sided with Thabo since WB was benched. I'm not sure what the fight was about, possibly Thabo cutting to the basket when WB was posting up a midget. Not passing. Not getting moving to good angle for a pass. Have no clue. 100% overboard - but that is what he does with everything. But give him credit for not pulling a Kobe and crying to the media about his teammate and the fight. He knows team business stays in-house. And yes, it was a tantrum, but again... at least he knew to go to the locker room. Hell, even Horry threw a towel in his coach's face.
Imagine an NBA show with Deke and Chuck side by side. It doesn't hurt to dream. Subtitles for Deke of course, and he would handle all interviews with special guests.
The problem with your rant is CP3 doesn't get mad at a botched play when they're up 25 pts, he's never done that. KG gets so intense but the stuff he does generally involves himself and the opponent, not his teammates. You need teamwork and cohesion if you're gonna win a ring. As good as Durant and WB is they're still outtalented by LBJ, Wade and Bosh so they need other guys like Ibaka, Perks, Kmart and Thabo to step up. The way WB tries to steer **** up might work if he's the best player in OKC, but everybody knows he's just Durant's sidekick so I think people can get riled up that Mister no. 2 is all up in their face when it has no effect on the game. If Perkins and Harden wasn't there to soothe egos OKC might have imploded a long time ago.
I say shoulda coaching shoulda just told him Thabo was right, WB was wrong, give WB a warning that if he pulled that again that he's getting benched, keep him in the game and move on. Making an example of WB by benching him might have brought on more petulance. BUT, since WB and Thabo seemingly get into it ALL the time, probably enough was enough and had to put WB on ice And agree that Thabo handles these things waaaaaaay better than WB http://blog.newsok.com/thunderrumbl...ues-to-show-restraint-with-russell-westbrook/

Guy's a joke. Can't handle himself in a professional manner. The fact that he can't learn anything from All-Class Kevin Durant just means Russell doesn't listen to anyone. He'll never win anything as long as he's one of the so called leaders. OKC are idiots for choosing him over Harden.
^i am not a fan of this guy at all, but I give them all a pass when it comes to dealing with these professional antagonizers, in the interviews immediately following games especially. They're just asking stupid questions that have no real answers ("so did they win or did you lose?!"), then keep following up until they get a reaction. There's definitely a skill to handling it, & for the players' own sanity they should learn how to deflect, or memorize some canned answers even if it's completely off topic its still works, but I'm not judging any athlete on their ability to do so. As far as interactions with teammates, that's different, if you're affecting chemistry. But i have no respect for idiot reporters essentially poking them with a stick.
Last night was the first time I've seen KD get upset and commit a flagrant foul, then almost getting into a scuffle with some scrub who tried to make peace. He seemed pissed as he wasn't getting any calls after all the hacking on him going on.
Durant has gained a mean streak this season. He has 10 technical fouls this season, same as Matt Barnes. Tied for 2nd w/ 4 other players behind Cousins.
Heh I guess I like Westbrook because he reminds me of me. I'm the captain of a football team and I rage quitted on our team in our semi-finals because I couldn't deal with their stupidity. Then again I'm not a pro athlete getting paid millions of dollars with a dozen cameras in my face. Meh. Westbrook is obviously very passionate and emotional. But yeah, that will always be a liability for the OKC Thunder. Perkins commented that he likes Westbrook off the court but hates him when he plays because when he gets into a zone he freezes everyone out and thinks he's the best player on the planet. Not good when Durant should be the #1 Option.
Do you see that upper lip of Westbrook, it really comes across and trying to look mean or something. That reaction right there is fake, he isn't even close to mad. He likes the drama, television, attention..
Powder keg. Would NOT want to be around when he explodes. If I'm Scott Brooks, I'm terrified of that day.
