Slightly too young for the Hakeem era...although I acknowledge the greatness and he'd definitely be my favorite if I was a serious basketball fan around then. With that being said...it's gotta be either Stevie Franchise, Yao, or James Harden. Favorite player from another team is Vince Carter.
I agree.. He was the reason i became a rockets fan (would have been a TOF if i knew about this forum or was old enough to comprehend the phrase at the time ) I actually still have a poster of him right next to my DMO jersey (Currently my favourite rookie, come on McHale let him loose)
Grew up watching Jordan. I knew about the rockets but really wasnt old enough to enjoy the greatness that was Hakeem Olajuwon. I really got into basketball watching Lakers Shaq and Kobe vs Iverson. Yao Ming/Francis and Yao Ming/T Mac serves my memories the best though
As a kid? Rockets - Akeem NBA - Magic Johnson Man, those laker/celtic matchups during the 80's were just so amazing. Probably the greatest rivalry in professional sports history at it's peak.
Rockets-Not named Dream 1. Horry 2. Cassell 3. Mad Max 4. Elie 5. Drexler Non-Rockets/Non-MJ 1. Mitch Richmond 2. Cliff Robinson 3. Larry Johnson 4. Gary Payton 5. Tim Hardaway Most Hated 1. Malone 2. Stockton 3. Starks 4. Christian Laetner 5. Barkley (traded for most of first list)
1) Houston - Hakeem 2) Toronto - Hakeem (If for some reason, this is invalid then I guess I'll take Magic Johnson from the Lakers because his teams gave MJ fits or Dennis Rodman from various teams)
