I'll say one thing about Rudy Gay. He's making me so glad the Rockets sold that Toronto pick at its highest value. At this rate, that pick may likely end up in the 9-12 range for this crappy draft. Imagine if we hadn't traded for Harden, and seeing the Raptors ongoing winning while the Rockets are floundering at 35 win pace. Yikes!

That's what I'm thinking as well.

The Raptors currently have the 10th worse record.

Rudy Gay doing well means the Raptors will win a few more meaningless games which only functions to devalue their lottery pick even further in an already weak draft.

    LOL @ da haters

They probably are secretly planning to name their firstborn Rudy now that they've seen his greatness.

Rudy Gay would have propelled the Rockets in 07 into the Finals.

    Worst trade in Rockets history.

I'll give him credit for hitting his guarded fadeaway again in a week. But there's a reason why he's being given that shot.

The most clutch player in the NBA shoots 33% in the last 3 minutes of the 4th quarter, including a blazing 17% from distance...

By way of comparison, Harden does 37% and 27% (and gets to the line...)

You confuse "da haters" actual agenda with Rudy Gay...

I think a lot of people would have liked to keep Rudy Gay if they could go back and change things.

However....when discussing Rudy Gay strictly as a player, he is undoubtably very overpaid, he's undoubtably very inefficient, he undoubtably has not lived up to his potential, and he's undoubtably not "on Durant's level".

And this is coming from an actual Rudy Gay fan. I just like to stay realistic and acknowledge the reality of the situation.

If you think game winning shots a) happen on a consistent basis over a long stretch of time and b) are the defining characteristic of a basketball player...then you're foolish.

Gay's game is Taylor made for those situations. With his length he only needs a couple of dribbles and then he has the leaping ability to get the shot off over the defender. The grizz wil probably miss Mayo more because he has a quick release which is better for shooting after catching a pass from the post. And he is cheaper.'

Rudy Gay is overpaid, but obviously a lot of the hate rudy gay is getting is because morey screwed up. Battier for Gay was horrible trade. Even if we didn't resign him he still would have been better than Battier.

Don't tell me this was a CD move, since the no-stat all-star seems like a DM type player.

You're absolutely right it's tailor made for that situation, but there's a reason why he's continually put in that situation for the remaining 46 minutes of the game.

I don't disagree he could score more efficiently. I haven't seen enough to say he should be more of a playmaker. He has mcgrady like measurables but does he have his basketball acumen, I doubt it. Few do
