I wouldn't. The East is completely wide open. Doesn't mean they'll do any damage though. A Lowry, Gay, Derozan, Valenciunas, Ross core is good enough to get in the playoffs with some development.
Actually Morey did make that trade. Les Alexander wanted Rudy Gay, the fans in the draft party wanted Rudy Gay...hell I wanted Rudy Gay. Morey wanted Thabo Sefalosha, and convinced everyone to trade Gay for Battier instead. Well considering he's making max contract while still being no where near a max player I'm not exactly crying tears of regret. He may be clutch but game Winners are so overrated, at the end of the day it's still 2 pts. Maybe if he was more efficient you won't need a game winner in the first place (ie. James Harden).
@ESPNStatsInfoRudy Gay has now made 4 go-ahead FG in last 10 seconds of 4th quarter/OT the last 3 seasons. Only Carmelo Anthony (5) has made more such FG
I don't think the rockets would've overpaid him as memphis did. He's a good player who can make shots. In the grand scheme of things,he would've added those 17pts per game in between yao and tracy. In the grand scheme of things he would be a foundation piece. Pre extension, his trade value would've been pretty high too.

No denying that he's clutch. He might be considered elite if he shot a higher FG%, but he doesn't so he's always a lower tier star.
Yeah, seems like Melo is the only one that has more clutch shots. Rudy Gay is definitely elite when it comes to making clutch shots. I realize that his contract is pretty bad, but it seems like every other day he is hitting a game winner or a clutch shot in the 4th/OT. I mean at some point the haters are just gonna have to stfu. It's getting ridiculous...
