If Obama is a technophobe like half the idiots in congress, then sadly yes. However, he hasn't openly supported SOPA before so I doubt he's bringing that fight back into play. Yeah, not the best idea in a recession. Its a good protocol to implement when the economy recovers however.
When I say Congress I am including the House and the Senate, which I believe represent more than 500,000 Americans. Freshman may require sometime to acclimate themselves, but I'm not suggesting 2 or 4 year term limits. How about 2x5 year term limits? A decade is plenty of time to acclimate and get some things done. No one person needs to be entrenched in any one position. If their ideas represent the will of the people then those ideas will be carried forward in a newly elected representative. Not many CEOs are in that position for decades and decades, but core strategies and values usually carry over. Anyway, I don't need to look at the private sector as an analogy for term limits in government when I can just reference the executive branch. The President has a 2x4 year term limit. We manage to get by with that.
Incumbents always receive ridiculous amounts of campaign funds from interest groups. Most of the time new congressmen only get into office from open seats.
