Almost forgot how big Yao is.

Not too many people makes JJ Watt look like a little kid.

Warriors favored by 4.5 points. Over/under is 219.

I just hope the refs aren't a factor in this game. Ticky-tack calls that slow down the game would be the worst - I'm anticipating at least a fun game.

then give him opportunity to hit home runs and help you win instead of signing a home run hitter and expect him to play like ichiro.

i mean, can't they tweak the system a bit to take advantage of having two home run hitters on the team rather than taking away the strength of one of them? i truly believe that lin and harden can play very well together; best back court in the nba potential. but i don't believe that mchale sees that or believe it could happen. he wants to run his system to a T even if it meant not utilizing all the talent he has on hand.

Obviously this is a huge game for us. Okc and miami SHOULD help us out tonight so we're in prime position to create a little bit of wiggle room four ourselves. We all know gs will be ready and motivated after last week i just hope we match their intensity

    It's an unfair post.

McHale had no problem extracting great production from PGs last season, no reason to think he has any great problem extracting production this season.
    Consistency has been an issue
And people's expectations are probably also the problem.
This month Lin has put up 16ppg and 6apg on 52% shooting. Is it a shock that a guy in his second NBA season is taking some time to adjust?? Not to me.

Yeah make the home run hitter who was batting .400 last year into a .250 spot up shooter. This actually makes things very clear to me. McHale doesn't want Lin to drive and score or make star moves but rather would like him to be pedestrian and have others be home run hitters. That's bs. I get what he is saying, but I disagree. He was a star PF who wanted to be fed next to a superstar SF who demanded to be fed, there was no room for the pg but that is not the case here. Isaiah, Magic, KJ, Hardaway, there were plenty of hard hitting pg's in his day. I personally don't like his opinion of Lin.

No. You actually prove his point. McHale doesn't believe in Lin like he did Goran. He's been pretty consistent in saying that we shouldn't expect anything close to Linsanity in the nicest of words. But why not? Why downplay his potential. This is to me a bad sign of things to come for Lin and his growth on this team. Just my opinion

McHale recognizes the same thing as everyone else on this board. Lin is a shoot first PG. His talent may not be optimized by the Rockets, but even if he's playing at his ceiling, it won't be enough for him to be the primary ball handler on a championship team. Lin knows this as well, which is why he's more than willing to change his game.

Lin's sub par performance this season is partly due to having to adjustment, but mostly it's on him. His humility and smarts are so rare in professional sports because they become weaknesses to exploit once on the court. He overthinks, doesn't trust his instincts, and when his first few shots don't fall it affects his mindset for the entire game.

That being said, having your coach say "You strike out a lot." is not going to help you in your development. I know Lin doesn't have the talent to be the 2nd option, but the coaches should really treat him like one because he's being paid like one. McHale is doing this probably in the interest of Lin, saying he's just a rookie trying to take some pressure off the kid, but it's not like Lin doesn't realize he's being paid $8.3 million dollars a year and his ranking amongst PGs...
