i vote for the real games. even if he didnt play the all star game you can bet your ass he's still gonna be there talking with the other players trying to recruit. likely hanging out with some of them outside of the game too, showing them around the city and all that stuff. Him not playing in the ASG will have no effect on his recruiting, the beard will do it one way or another
James will not sit out the ASG. I know this. I don't know it for sure. I am going on a limb & saying he won't miss the ASG. How much will he play? Who knows? Last time it was here T-slack was injured up until then and played, and was kind of given the reigns so to speak by the other players since it was in "Houston" at the time. I remember the players almost giving T-slack room & encouraging him to go to the hoop or shoot.
Come on, who the hell is not tired finishing 9th in WC? It's been 3 year in row. It's time to make playoffs and hopefully win a couple games in first round.
Agreed. And plus it's hilarious how many fans or pushing for the playoffs when making the playoffs as a 8th-7th seed is the same as missing the playoffs (not going to beat OKC or S.A.). And it would actually benefit the Rockets to miss the playoffs this season so they can keep their first round pick which goes to Atlanta if we make the playoffs. But even if Harden was to sit out the next two games and we lose _ we still can make the playoffs. Portland's bench is horrible _ worst in the league so we could still beat them out for the 8th spot regardless.
I don't think that is the case anymore. The Rockets will get in the playoffs in the next three years so it's not like we won't be giving up that pick to ATL eventually. At this point, IMO, it's much better to get into the playoffs and get our guys experience while giving up the pick to ATL in a draft that is supposed to be very weak.
I think Harden can play in the ASG, it's not like they play defense in that game anyway. Will probably just dunk some uncontested ones then sit down after awhile.
I disagree, weak draft it may be but there are still some good players coming out. And never know if Morey can take that draft pick in a player and parlay that into a higher draft pick which could benefit the team more so in the long run then making the playoffs this season. Plus, I don't believe McHale is the right guy for the job. He proved that to me by having Delfino guard Dirk (one of the best power forwards of all time) in the 4 quarter against Dallas with the game on the line and by insisting on playing a small forward (Morris) as a power forward when we have other PFs on the roaster and with his crazy substitution patterns. Making the playoffs this year may mean he remains as the head coach and that I do not want. This team would probably have 3-5 more wins right now if they had a better coaching staff.
Since it happens to be in Houston this season and our star player became an All-Star for the first time in his career, i do give a ****.
I think the AS game is more important to Harden at this point. He seems really excited, it being his first.
Totally disagree. I think making the playoffs is way more important to the big picture. Nobody is going to say "Harden missed the allstar game with injury, I think I'll sign somewhere else". They'll say " If Harden can't even get his team to the playoffs, he's not really that good. I think I'll sign somewhere else". If Harden misses 2 regular season games and then risks injury during the All Star game, I'll be really upset.

I wonder which is more important to Harden.. the game vs the Clippers or the his first All-Star game appearance infront of his home crowd..
Given that he rolled his ankle pretty bad yesterday and he pretty much has to sit out the Clipper game because of injury, I'm not thinking it is so much by choice. I mean he has a choice but it's less than 24 hours from a sprain so not sure why anyone would question that. I'm sure he would be anxious to get back out there whether it was the All-Star game or a regular game. He sure seems to have good work ethics. As far as which is more important, I would assume to him all games are.
