you know who was coaching them (respectively) though?

    Rudy T

    Rick A.

Those are two of the best players coaches of all time.

DMC is good, no doubt about it. But I hope to god the Rox don't pick him up.

We picked up Royce white, and look where it got us. We gambled with the fact that he had mental health issues, and it screwed us out of cap space. Do we really wanna make the same mistake twice and take a gamble on some punk who probably won't play team ball and complain/b**** all game?

    I'm not down for it.

The only new "name" I want on this, this particular young Rox squad, is Demarcus Cousins. He's a headcase for sure, but I'd wager he'd beast w/Harden, Parsons and Asik. Don't think he wouldn't work his way into the pregame ninja-kungfu ritual.

Now that would be a team.

This thread shouldn't still be active.

Demarcus Cousins is a legitimate centre. He's exceptionally talented and physically gifted in a position that is scarce for quality while being young with more upside.

Cousins isn't even comparable to Josh Smith. The only thing that makes them similar is their attitude problems and low BBIQ but just by virtue of their age and the different positions they play, Cousins is a significantly superior prospect.

Josh Smith isnt really skilled in the post on offense. A great post defender though. NOT a stretch 4 he cannot shoot. Cousins is far more skilled in the post and an good rebounder. Cousins is kinda what Houston needs at the moment. The only similarities the two have is that they dont have good heads on their shoulders.

If he does it in 24 mins then sure.. Go ahead and bump it.

I love how everyone is so quick label this guy when there probably isn't one poster in this thread that has actually even met DeMarcus Cousins. Sure we hear and see him doing stupid things at times, but that doesn't mean it isn't correctable.

A lot of players get a bad rep when they are unhappy with their situation and playing on awful teams. The Kings management is one of the worst in the NBA, if not all sports. They foolishly put up massive billboards with praising D Cousins as soon as he was drafted. He was also one of the many brought up in the whole AAU lifestyle, and it is safe to say he was coddled growing up.

I think it's pretty clear he just needs some direction. He needs a team that will be hard on him and push him to achieve his potential. If you put him on a team with some veterans, I think it would be a completely different situation. I'm not sure if he would work with the Rockets, but I do think that McHale and Sampson could help with his development, and I have a hard time believing Harden, Parsons and co. couldn't keep him in line (at least for the most part).

At the end of the day, he worth the "risk." I don't know how many legitimate centers are out there that have anywhere near the potential of this guy. Ultimately, I think the Rockets end up going after Dwight, but I would MUCH rather have Cousins. Dwight would be a big risk too, and given the history of the Rockets I would much rather have to deal with attitude problems than lingering injury issues.

When we use our assets (players/picks/cap space) is not nearly as important as how we use them.

We have an extremely young team, there is zero reason to make any move out of urgency.

If anything, we prey on other teams that must act quickly (because of luxury tax or a roster that is maxed out and must win now or execs lose their jobs).
