Lakers next 6: 02/12 Suns vs Lakers 02/14 Clippers vs Lakers 02/20 Celtics vs Lakers 02/22 Trail Blazers vs Lakers 02/24 Lakers vs Mavericks 02/25 Lakers vs Nuggets They'll be LUCKY to win 3 games.
Lakers just lost that game period. Miami out hustled them and out worked them. Hopefully they lose some more and Dwight jumps ship in the summer.
Wade had a great game also not to be overlooked. Fans are definitely more annoying than the team to be honest. Good win for the heat
Both. Sure, fans are super annoying. But I really do hate that narcissistic rapist. And Dwight Coward. Only likeable player on that team is Nash.
The refs were with the Lakers and against us playing the Heat. The lakers loose by 10 ,but we loose by only 6. Sports fans, the Lakers are in a world of it!
Lakers didn't play bad today. Losing by 10 at Miami is nothing to be ashamed of. If they would have rebounded better, game would have gone down to the wire. Looks like they have turned it around. If Kobe and Nash stay healthy and don't wear down from playing so many minutes, they will make the playoffs.
So...they get blown out by the Celtics, beat the Bobcats by 7 points, then lose by 10 to the Heat and they've turned it around? Not sure I'm buyin that...I gotta see some more success until I proclaim the Lakers as "turned around"
I honestly don't think they will make the playoffs, all hating aside. Do the math... to get to 48 wins, they need to go 24-6 in the last 30 games!!! That's not possible even with a fully healthy team. BTW, they still play the Clippers twice, @OKC, Spurs, Golden State twice, Memphis, Houston, @Denver, @Atlanta, @Indiana, Portland twice... If they even go .500 in those games, thats already 6 losses... so they'd have to be perfect in EVERY OTHER GAME. Sorry commissioner Stern, it's not happening this year.
Not convinced they'll need 48 wins though. They might only need 41-42. Utah has a horrid stretch ahead, and so do Portland. Portland has the hardest remaining strength of schedule (in the West), their opponents are 54% win record the rest of the way. Utah has the second hardest, at 53%. On the flipside, LA is at 50% (4th easiest). The good news is Houston is at 48% (2nd easiest from here), so if LA makes the playoffs, it shouldn't be at our expense!!
There's no way 48 wins is needed for the playoffs. Houston and more importantly Utah are not going to win that many, and LA just needs to surpass one. 44 or 45 is more likely. Still very tough, but if any lottery team is going to make it in the West, it's LA, then Dallas, and then Portland.
For what it's worth, Hollinger's playoff odds has LA pipping Utah at the post, with both teams winning 41 games, and LA holding the tie-break.
You're joking right? Houston will win 48 games. We're on pace for 44, but we've HAD the hardest schedule of ALL western conference teams so far, AND we have the 2nd easiest remaining schedule. 48 is a fair assessment for the Rockets.
Forget the 48 game threshhold. Why don't you do the math and look at this season specifically and forget the past? The important thing is the Rockets, Jazz and Blazers are ahead of them. I expect the Jazz to trade Big Al or Milsap, which will make them worse. It's just a matter of time before the Blazers collapse. Their starters can't continue carrying such a heavy burden. I said earlier in the season 41-42 wins might be enough and still believe so.
