    ????

Asik is a good role player - but star????

C'mon folks. Parsons and Asik are role players. This team has very good role players in Asik, Parson, & Lin. Harden's the star. Add one more star at the PF spot and we have a very good team that should create some noise.

Would Parsons' as a player still get this overrated if he was less handsome?
His true value is in hist contract vs production and team chemistry builder. As a basketball product, he is a very good role player that can achieve Shane Battier level game changing status.

He is already better right now than Shane Battier ever was as a Rocket.

Shane Battier won finals for Lebron last year...

A solid player he is. But he can disappear offensively and his defense can as well. He needs to be more consistent on both sides of the ball to help this team. May come with time.

Wrong, LeBron won a finals for Shane

Chandler is better than Shane and you can not even creat a sane argument against that very simple fact. Using your logic, Shane must also be better than Kevin Durrant.

    Parsons is a legit 15-5-5 guy making $800k'ish. .

Role player is an enormous understatement.

I've been saying forever that Chandler Parsons is the best bargain in the NBA. He's basically a white Andre Iguodala and getting paid 14MM less. Their stats are crazy similar.

Role players are Mario Chalmers or Derek Fisher. Parsons is a couple of levels above that.

Parsons is not a star, he cannot create his own shot nor is he exceptionally elite at one single thing (rebounding, 3 point shot, defense). He is just an A+ role player.

I hope front office dont take his professionalism and niceness for granted. Like its been stated, he's the best bargain. If he does this all season and improves next season, I hope Morey doesnt play hardball like he did with Landry.

I worry what will happen when his contract is over
Will he stay in Houston? Will Houston pay him? How much money will he demand?

Disagree, seen him pump fake and get straight to the hole a lot this season, as opponents are respecting his shot. He doesn't really cross over, but his length allows to him to get to the rim, he also has an excellent left hand.

Dude is a starter, straight up.

He plays excellent D, and I think will only get better. His D suffered a bit due to injury and fatigue.

Come on, the guy has to guard Lebron/KD and both of them has said Parson has got game.

Look, I don't hate the dude. He's great. But I know the majority of us cringe when he tries to go iso.

Those are results of the Rockets offense, not a result of Parsons' shot creating ability.

Parsons will continue to improve much like he did his ft's and fg pct...Parsons is a winner and is going to push himself to his potential, u can believe that. Comparing him to battier is a joke! Battier scored like 14 his 1st year and 10+ in only 3 seasons his career. Sure battier was a better defender but as a scorer and everything else parsons is better than battier ever was.
