Russell Westbrook owns the longest consecutive games streak among active players with 362. Westbrook has yet to miss a game since he was drafted fourth overall in 2008. Omer Asik is second on the active list with 199. Source is a OKC guy, no link found other then realgm
Damn.. WB got a crazy gap over anyone even remotely hoping to catch some similar streak... What was Battiers???? Like 460+???
i dont think anyone will come remotely close to AC Greens record....and those days the game was much rougher than today
It's quite surprising Westbrook has stayed healthy for that many games considering his style of play.
Westbrook takes a lot of mid-range jumpers, Asik played limited minutes his entire career and doesn't play too much currently while being relatively grounded cf. his peers. That said, it's still amazing how durable they both are. Glad to have Asik on our team and it's good that he doesn't see the court for extensive minutes given that as a 7'0 his knees and feet would be taking a pounding every night, especially in our high octane offense.
but this is just the regular season streak....in his first season he broke his foot durin the conference finals against the heat. I'm not sure but i think it was the 2nd game....
Andre Miller was up there for a while wasn't he? Or was it most consecutively starting? I don't remember.
westbrook is a freak of nature. hasn't missed a game in high school, college or NBA. Despite all of his reckless drives. Really remarkable.
Thats pretty sad that the rockets didn't even let him continue his streak. I don't believe that he wasn't feeling good. That is downright ruthless to not let him even get in the game for a guy who just plays hard.
1) You think the Rockets care about his games played streak? C'mon... 2) He plays hard? Did you not watch the 76ers game? He played like a bum, wasn't giving any effort, so McHale did the right thing and benched him. If Asik played hard, he would have logged more minutes against the 76ers and he would have played tonight. This is not the team's fault. It's Omer's. If Omer wants a trade, then by all means that's fine. But don't say it's "downright ruthless" that they benched him. He doesn't want to be here and he clearly isn't giving enough effort.
