When we played better teams in the past they would tune in on Harden and this opened up Lin way more. Now it seems as if no one can stop the Beard.
Ya Lin being better is just a function of the good teams doing everything humanly possible to stop Harden. Including leaving Lin unguarded at the 3pt line. They loves them some 0.290 shooting percentages. Once we get a point guard with a shot, watch out. And Im not dissing Lin, maybe it is he who learns to shoot after one offseason of work like Lowry and Jason Kidd did.
Lowry is shooting 41.5% FG compared to Lin's 43.7% for the season. He has him beat at 3PT% though and they average about same points. Kidd is at 40% FG but also shoots a good % from 3, like Lowry. Lin's 3PT shot is dragging his overall % down but he's been improving steadily throughout the season.
It's probably a mix of both, Lin being more motivated but also him being more open due to them clamping down on Harden.
It's comical how people continue to spew the same old knocks on Lin (can't go left, can't shoot, can't play D) when the stats are beginning to show otherwise.
Not to say that Lin can't improve as a shooter, but his 3-Pt % is actually .319 for the season, not .290.
There's really not much meaning in these stats. If teams focus on Lin like the Heats or Okc (first game), then he'll struggle. Maybe the Clippers type defense as well which is to leave him wide wide wide open and prevent his drives to mess with his confidence.
