This guy has been snubbed from defensive player of the year too many times. I honestly believe he is one of the most influential defensive players in the league.
You must be talking offense only, because Magic was not a great defender. I think the OP is saying Lebron is all around when you count both sides of the ball. But offensive side, your list is fine. But I have to include Larry Bird. I might even bump Oscar Robertson off that list to make it Lebron, Magic, Bird. Despite the eye test of Bird vs Oscar, the ring test bares that out, too. Oscar only has one ring, and he wasn't the best player on that team. that really was Kareem's ring.
My problem with MJ is he played on a stacked team that was able to reach the NBA finals without him, so while him winning 6 rings is impressive the fact that his team is so good probably helped him a lot more than people realize. Before PJ and the rest of the Jordaneers arrived MJ couldn't get past the bad boys so IMHO the best way to compare both MJ and LBJ is just to use their individual stats and accolades. When you use that particular lens, LBJ stacks extremely well with MJ since he's technically better than MJ at this age. IMHO LBJ could very well be the GOAT if he keeps up this level of play for around 5 more years, esp. since MJ quit 2 times to play baseball LOL.
He'll be cut and dry second best to ever play by the time his career is over. Its Hard to compare him with MJ because they are very different players.
Arguably the most versatile player of all time. His jump shot, 3 point shot, and post game have improved a lot. His already excellent shot selection has also improved. He really needs to work on those FTs though. If he can hit 80% from the line that would be superb.
To be fair KG did not deserve to play in the ASG this season. TD on the other hand was having a monstrous season before he got injured :/.
He should have won last year! But then he woulda joined Hakeem as the only players with MVP, DPOY and Finals MVP in the same season
Yep Kobe being good in the clutch is one of the worst myths ever. He is a great bad shot maker but his shot selection has always been pretty bad and it gets worse in the clutch.
I disagree. He's still an elite defender. His defense alone justifies his place on the All-Star team. And his numbers are still solid. Regardless, he's been incredibly durable to date. How many injury plagued seasons has he had over the course of his career?
Don't read my comment as disputing your point. I just want to use your comment to demonstrate how awesome Harden is on offense. Remember the play in the 4th Quarter of the last Miami game. Clock was running down so the Rockets threw the ball back out to Harden at the key. James was on him and knew Harden had to do something in 3 seconds....a huge defensive advantage. Harden immediately took him off the dribble and James defended the drive (he would have blocked Harden on a drive the way he played it), so Harden went, step back and pop, 18-footer "Nothing but net". That was one of the quickest step backs I have ever seen...off a hard drive to the basket that James had to honor. Harden got so much separation on that, James didn't even jump. Hand down, man down.
i read statements like this and then i look at the join date and its almost always the same ole story
