Fair comment.

 

I really liked what I saw from Bev last night, even if he didn't score a point.

I'd like to see him with more minutes, especially on long road trips because Lin seems to get gassed easily.

 

Hollinger's Playoff Odds has projected us to be 6th seed after this Blazers game and have a 94.2% chance making the playoffs.

Jazz is at 8th with only 49.2%.

I don't know that it is as simple as PPat calling him out. A lot of it is the Rockets hitting 3's which opens up the middle. The Rockets coaches did talk to him about his turnovers and defense, and both have improved greatly. I don't like putting unrealistic expectations on players, but I have never been as consistently surprised by a player as I have Harden.

Means nothing. Last year, we had like a 90% chance or more to make the playoffs with about 5 games left. We needed to win just one, and we lost them all

Jazz with only 49% chance of making it? Wow. What about the Lakers? Their failure should help us land Dwight even for just a little bit

 

The best thing about this team is they trust each other. They have fun,too. The faces/leaders of the team are all above average playmakers for their position and that's what makes this offense sing. There's a natural flow to the offense that wasn't there in the beginning of the season and everyone seems to have bought into the concept.

 

Lakers has a 37.4% chance of making the playoffs.

I am predicting that we have a 60% chance of winning 8 games straight in March, if our players really want to push for the 6th seed.

 

Memphis is still within striking distance so 5th seed is possible, too.

 

5th is where you want to be.

 

That percentage seems too low...they've got a ton of home games left, which should nearly guarantee them a playoff spot barring injuries...that 40 point shellacking we put on them is really distorting the odds...

HPO is currently ranking the playoff seeding based on its odds as OKC, SAS, LAC, DEN, MEM, HOU, GSW, UTA.

We have to catch up on both Memphis and Utah to get to the 5th.

Playing against the Clippers in the first round seems better to me than the Nuggets, unless the Grizzlies are able to secure the 4th seed.

Since losing Gay, their offensive efficiency has regressed quite a bit. I think they will drop further if we beat them in both the remaining two games.

 

They've got 16 home and 15 road games left, just one home games more than we do.

The 45 points shellacking did bring them at least 10 positions down on the Hollinger's Power Rankings, on which their Playoff Odds is based.

 

We would have just gotten blown out anyway and hung on to those role players for too long. Blessing in disguise.

 

I agree 100%. This team has come a long way since the beginning of the season. McHale, the entire coaching staff, and the players deserve a lot of credit for the amazing progress they have made this season. Still a lot of work to do until we are a contender, but the team is coming together much better than anyone could have expected.

As for last nights game, I was pleased with the play of Cole Aldrich and Patrick Beverley. I think Aldrich is a legitimate Back-up in this league and has some value. Beverley stepped in and made some great hustle plays and didn't make many mistakes.

 

I am not so sure about Cole. I wouild take Greg over him any day.
