If Lin can continue to shoot well from behind the arc, say average around 35%, the Rockets may be one of the most efficient offenses in the NBA. They have such great floor spacing especially considering the age of the team.

Good, one more idiot to add to my ignore list. Now if people would stop quoting these idiots, all the better as I would not see their blinkered view.

Parsons has really turned himself into a good 3 point shooter since his rookie season. If Lin can do the same next year, watch out.

    Free throw shooter too.

He went from a whopping 55% to 75%.

Bingo! In short, the fouls on Harden are legit fouls, while the fouls on Kevin Martin are... flop-dependent.

You're just being a tool. Lin is a decent PG. You're not a real Rockets fan just a hater.

LOL not a real Rockets fan?

It's not a secret I don't care for Lin, but I live and breathe Rocket red.

No, I disagree. Lin has his moments, but he is among the worst starting PGs in the league.

looking at this entire season , probably. But if you look at it during specific points like now he has played really well. this sporadic play can be attributed due to him being young. I think by the end of this season he will have been a "Good" PG for the rockets.

Don't let his goblin like fans get to you.

It's fine to have this opinion. But you cheese off a lot of people by stating your opinion as fact, and flaunting a join date as validation for your opinion instead of explaining it adds nothing of value to the discussion. Go ahead though, lump me in with all the other 2012/13ers.

    just one thing,

If say LIN/Asik is making 8.3m a year,

    Then Harden is making (5+80)/6 = 14.2m a year.

3 has to be falling, that will further open up the lane.

Your right about that. I'm older and not in basketball shape but I can still shoot very well after 15 or 20 minutes of warming up but if you get me running back and forth on the court my shot goes to crap because of my conditioning.

I disagree. I still think Lin is a bad fit with Harden and that the talents of both will not be fully exploited if they are to play together long term. I have never seen two ball dominant guards successfully play together and if a system does exist that can achieve just that, then I have yet to see it and it sure will have to come from an X and O genius, not from the McHale/Sampson duo.

Harden + spot-up shooting/lock-down defender combo guard + Asik + improving Parsons + bruising PF with go-to post moves + Head coach who can maximize Harden's talents without resorting to Hardenball = Championship.

Lin on the other hand might thrive in a more classic PG led offense with good PNR bigs and good 3pt-shootong wing where the ball gets to be in his hands most of the time.

Lin's play has been really inconsistent. He started off horribly. Then he had a very nice December into early January. Then he slumped as badly as any Rocket during our horrible stretch. And now he's back to being pretty good again. If that January slump is a product of hitting the wall or something, then his current production can be construed as being more an indicator of future play. If he's still just wildly inconsistent, then this just may happen to be a temporary high.

Still lack sample size to say either way.

Also LOL at veteran cult gatekeepers trying to keep the stock pure by attacking anyone with a 2012 join date and a differing opinion.

Correction: anyone with a 2012 date from July on. If you joined before July that year, you're okay...

Considering that slump coincided at the same time where pretty much our entire team was slumping due to that brutal january schedule I would like to think that is the reason. And in the beginning of the season he was still going through that phase where you are playing meaningful basketball for your first time post surgery. Morey & Lin both said that he wasn't totally healthy. Just trying to offer a little perspective.

Anyway he has still been wildly inconsistent, & his 3 point shooting seems to have slightly improve but who knows how long that will last.

I think the key point of this thread though is that it proves that Lin hasn't been as passive as everybody likes to think he has. Averaging 8.1 drives per game, in the top 10 of all players that the team scores 1.32 PPP off your drives on the level of Tony parker. That is pretty impressive considering how awful of a shooter he is & the fact that he doesn't have the ball in his hands as much.

Lin and Harden are so good at getting to the hole. With this double-engine keeping their penetration, Rockets are scary.

Lin: he is just so fast and good at finding lapses in your defense, you failed to pay attention to him for just one second, he is finished in your hole.

Harden: he is gonna penetrate no matter you are ready or not.

Parsons: "If you aren't allowing my body Lin get to you hole, I'm gonna TRAVEL there, and BANG on it."

Douglas: "Getting to the hole, getting to the hole ... Oops, too fast."

Asik: "Indulge me with a soft hand? No ... the hard way then ..."

Delfino: "Here I come ... Damn, Manu's sausage!"

    Patterson: "Good night, World!"
