I still think Kobe and Wade are both the better players overall but he's having the best season as an SG easily.

I'll take Bll Russell and Pippen and KG boston years any day for my franchise leade. What you are saying is just the main stream idea of a franchise player but you sound like a kobe stan with that logic of scoring and leading offensive option as only way of being a franchise player

I totally agree about James. I hope all Rocket's fans really appreciate what we have right now. It was excruciating the past few years knowing that the team was barely good enough to challenge for a playoff spot, but also that we had no marquee players to build around. I loved Lowry, but James is just.... SO GOOD.

I understand the argument you are making for George, and I'm not saying he isn't a promising player. I'm not sure that he is one of ~20 "Franchise players." I think it's more accurate to say he is on the cusp of that, rather than on the cusp of being a "Superstar."

I should also point out that I don't watch much of the Pacers or George, but from what I have seen, that is what I believe. In your opinion, if he were on a team that allowed him, could he be the go-to scorer and put up 20+ every night while still bringing it on D? If yes, then maybe I am underrating him. My thing about him is that I'm not sure if his offensive numbers are underwhelming because he needs more touches, or if it's because he needs to be more effective.

Kobe's hubris brings himself, and more importantly, his team down a couple of notches.

Wade's play has been trending down for a few years now.

The difference between the three is indiscernible.

Where Harden could separate himself as the best SG would be his improvement on the defensive end, where both Kobe and Wade have been excellent at various points in their careers.

Final minutes of a game I'd rather have the vet experience from wade or Kobe, but for the entire game the young gunning of Harden would be the early choice.

I guess my original statement can be misleading... To clarify, I would NEVER argue Russell or KG as Franchise players. Pippen too.

To compare, Pippen used to score 18-22 on 45-50% shooting while dishing out ~7 assists and ~7 boards a game! And all of that alongside Mike! That's way beyond what George is doing. NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Russell was one the the best defenders of his era, and he dominated inferior competition.

KG is one of the best PF's of all time. During his Minnesota days he was absolutely unstoppable. An absolute MONSTER on BOTH sides of the court.

All 3 of those guys are no comparison to George, and prime Garnett and Pippen were more than capable of being the primary offensive option. Garnett actually was.

Kobe defense has been generally bad this year and wade still plays it at a very high level. Kobe's offense is also at a high level along with wade in terms of efficiency factoring in. Both of them still score more in the field, wade especially with 4 less minutes. I honestly think if he was the number 1 option and played as many minutes as both he'd probably have a better season then both overall. I think harden is doing great already tho and to even be in the discussion at 23 years old!

He had been 2nd on my list for all season, but these couple games absolutely turned my head. #1 SG James Harden.

At this moment, he shoots too many jumpers to be a 'superstar'. A superstar, in my humble opinion, has to get to the line more often than George has so far (3 FTA per game) to get easy points for his team, but I believe you can build a team around Paul George's skill set.

Well, compared to the other SG's we've mentioned, his usage isn't as high (only 23.6%, compared to Harden's 29.1%, Wade's 29.3%, etc.) but he could certainly be more efficient., but he has been improving for the last 2 months. At the beginning of the season he really had problems creating off the dribble (turning it over a lot), but has certainly improved in that area.

Well PG is already dissing near them scoring wise and a great great perimeter defender and he's not even in his prime so maybe we shouldn't compare to them. And I was talking about KG in his boston days where he wasn't the number 1 offensive option but was still a franchise player and FMVP

Could care less whether or not Harden is considered the #1 SG or #3 SG. You know why? Because Kobe and Wade are both on the downhill of their careers, while Harden is only 23. For christ sakes, TWENTY THREE years old.

Well he showedup Wade badly in Miami few nights ago. In the last game against la he outplayed Kobe to. Harden right now on current form is not only a the best SG but one of the top 5 players in the world.

3rd behind Wade and Ginobili IMO. Both are declining, so he should soon be #1.
