We all become a Rocket fan for some reason, maybe for a specific player. There is no problem defending his favorit player. It is pretty offensive segregating clutch fans according to time they become a member of this site.

It is prety crazy that Lin averages 8.1 drives a game. Considering he can't shoot to save his life and teams sag off of him & that more often than not our back court gets more defensive pressure than our front court. Very promising back court.

I think he will adjust. Kevin Martin isn't a star caliber player like Harden is, so when he's not getting any calls, he will struggle. Harden will find other ways to score and be effective. But with Harden, a lot of the times on drives, he gets foul more often and the officials doesn't blow the whistle but he still finishes.

Sometimes with Harden and a lot of other star players like Durant, Kobe or Melo, when they are feeling it, they don't really care how contested the shot is. That's what separate him from other NBA players. He has the ability to light it up at any given time. Also, on top of that, he's scoring just as much as the top guys but he's actually getting high assist also. Harden is an incredibly unselfish player and he will score but also find his teammates as well.

Then why some ppl here still complaining that Lin couldn't guard other point guards?

Man, if the 2012ers are bad, I wonder what he thinks of 2013ers?

And was Lin the only big media player we obtained in 2012? I forget. I guess there's no reason anyone would have started paying attention to the Rockets in 2012 besides Morey's Lin gambit.

Blame the haters and trolls. They just can't help but bash him because they actually want to rile the place up and they know his fans will jump on to defend him.

    How do you figure?

Lin is only making $5 million this year and giving us 12.5ppg, 6.1apg, and 3.6rpg.

For comparison, Andre Miller is also making the same amount for 8.7ppg, 5.8apg, and 2.9rpg. Mike Conley is making $7.3 million and his stats are comparable as well at 13.2ppg, 5.8apg, and 2.4rpg.

Of course if you want to include the $8 million total cap space then he's also on par with George Hill at 14.7ppg, 4.9apg, and 4.2rpg. And he's doing much better than Devin Harris ($8.5 million) at 8.6ppg, 2.6apg, and 1.9rpg or Rodney Stuckey (also $8.5 million) at 11.2ppg, 3.7apg, and 2.7rpg.

Heck, and even though Calderon ($10.5 million) burned him in that one game, he's still doing similar at 11.1ppg, 7.3apg, and 2.3rpg.

Lin definitely isn't doing as well as his Linsanity stats, but we all new that wasn't sustainable when he came here. Personally, while I agree he has a lot to improve on, I think he's doing just fine and will be a great fit for out team.

Oh, and I'm a 2009er so I hope that satisfies your year criteria.

I blame both sides honestly, It's clear that some members here love to rile LOFs. But it's on the LOFs that they take the bait every time too.

How many times does the same arguments need to be made? It's not like anybody has some great insight. Just re-hashing of points that's been made a thousand times over.

Just let it lie, you know?

Comparing Harden to Kevin Martin is just a bad comparison, Martin wasn't getting foul calls the same way Harden is. A lot of Martins calls where rake thru's and going up for a jump shot then jumping into the player. This isn't what Harden does, he takes it hard to the basket and they have to foul him or he will score.

You just have something against Lin and or against the 2012'ers.
It is obvious that Lin isn't a below average point guard. Personally I think he has way more upside that Kyle or Goran. I would like to think that most Rocket fans would at least be objective about his play and not just dog him all of the time.

The last 5 games Lin is averaging 16.8 ppg, shooting 53% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc, 6.4 assist and 1.8 steals.

He started out below average but little by little he has improved throughout the season, he isn't playing below average right now. Hopefully he will continue to improve.

I, too, was worried what would happen to Harden once the refs stop calling the fouls. His scoring seemed like a gimmick easily beaten (i.e. against smart teams like OKC).

But now that Harden is starting to consistently hit those mid-range jumpers, I'm not worried anymore. He was terrible at those iso-jumpers at the start of the season, but he has started to make them over the last couple of games. That's all I need!

I would love is to seem him add a few more weapons, like a fadeaway or turnaround... but at that point you're talking about gravy. Plus, if he's in a situation where he needed that, he also looks to assist anyways.
