It's not only the height... but the position that he is most comfortable with If he plays SG one whole season then yes
not just the best sg, but already top five player! Durant is the only player I'd rather have but even then..i'd have to give it some thought.
Defense isn't THAT important from a SG. The farther out you get on the perimeter the less important your defense becomes. 5>4>3>2>1. I agree George has a well rounded game, but in my opinion to become a superstar level SG you must be an elite shot creator. You can become a superstar center with defense and rebounding... but not at the guard positions.
Na... If you saw what Harden can do... is George a superstar yet? I doubt it... he isn't even a recognized allstar around the league. Not yet
I put him ahead of wade because he is an obvious doper. I can't honestly put him in front of Kobe because of all the accomplishments, but If I had a choice to start a team today I pick Harden.
Defense is always important, at every position. Having the ability to tell your SG 'take him out the game/make him feel uncomfortable' is an asset that separates George from the other SGs. I don't think he will ever be able to get to the line like Harden/Wade/Kobe, but it's the combination of what he provides/excels at that thrust him into the conversation (I suppose that would make him the Rondo of the SG position).
Rondo... another overrated player on CF. Look what the Celtics are doing right now without him. You're overrating perimeter defense. Does it matter? Of course it does. It just doesn't matter as much as you seem to think it does.
I've seen what Harden can do, and I am not saying George is better, but George is a star you can build a team around. He is a good passer, excellent defender, great scorer, and probably the best rebounding SG in the NBA.
Defense does matter though in close situations and in crunch time more than regular season games it's offense does matter more if you are the Number one go to guy on your team
Please, look at who they beat. The Kings, Magic, a CP3-less Clippers, a Laker team with an injured Dwight and Pau.... People focus so much on the record, they forget that all teams are not equal. A sample size of 6 games, against mostly terrible/injured teams, does not mean Rondo is over rated.
Best sg in NBA today is Harden IMO. Certainly playing like the most well rounded. In couple years there will be no debate.
I love Harden, but I'd still put Kobe above him. I think Harden has surpassed Wade this season, but I would need a longer stretch of productivity before I could declare him the best. It's only in the last couple of games that he's shown an ability to take over games down the stretch, and I give that a lot of weight for someone making a case for the best SG in the league.
No doubt George is talented and I can see him score over 20 ppg but Harden is already further on his way and dominating games He is on his way to Lebron, Wade stratosphere right NOW.
I agree, simply saying that Paul George certainly has a case to kick either Wade or Kobe out of the top 3 based off simply this year's performance thus far.
