Great show...but the intro is nothing special at all. The whole panning around the city stuff has been rehashed time and time again.
Game of Thrones is as epic as it gets. That music definitely gets you into the mood. I prefer city intros where you a more 'intimate' look at the city including the street level and people. I like Louie for that reason.
I dig the intro to NBC/TNT's Southland... it is an under-appreciated show too. I dig the music and visuals. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/VAZ2tdUUS94" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I just started re-watching Deadwood for about the 5th time... forgot how good it's opening was. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bWjFvamJssw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Too short and in a different key. And the original intro seemed to do more with less, all those quick zoom shots.
