First time I agree with this village idiot.

 

Wow, surprisingly, I like Royce more after reading this article. I get him. The mental illness he's speaking of seems to be quite a bit broader than one might interpret at first.

 

That's a huge step back from the "I'm not gonna feel safe to work until they put the #protocol down in my contract" stance.

 

Still doesn't allow him to openly trash the organization that took a chance on him in the draft publicly and on Twitter. Still doesn't allow him to refuse work based on his own personal agenda. And also...to publicly acknowledge that this entire time you have been away from the Rockets, you only practice basketball about once a week?

I'm sorry...but Royce White has done so much harm to his image, I can't support him until I see that he's dedicated to the career he chose to pursue and the work that comes with it. If he wants to be an activist, then cool, but if he wants to be an activist and a basketball player, he needs to advocate AND play basketball.

 

Considering that he isn't practicing on his own, that's a good possibility.

 

Well, personally, I do think he could have handled what I know of it more professionally. But then again I won't pretend to know all that has transgressed behind the scenes so I'll reserve absolute judgement. I'm sure he certainly views basketball as a means to an end--thus the lack of commitment on his part to 'practice.' Somewhat AI/Tmac like.

I'd glady take back all the foul stuff I'd said to and about him.

For what it's worth, I think most if not all his mental issues are outside the court. When he's on the court, he's at his best.

 

By "come through" he means "get my way" I think.

 

No reason to take back anything. Regardless of future behavior, he's been a major douche these past 6 months.
