http://www.nba.com/rockets/video/2013/02/08/ZOOM0002MOV-2377414 Stare of death by Berman at the last 20 seconds or so... If this team ever gets good enough to have national TV games, the sideline reporters better watch out. Edit: Who is this "Jerry" that Berman said brought up the idea that some players slow down before the break? Was it "Terry" as in Portland coach Terry Stotts? To be fair to Berman, I recall that JVG said the same thing about the pre-break and post-break games being a "hump" of sorts for some guys. Personally I suspect that McHale made fun of it because he doesn't want that idea anywhere in the minds of his younger players. Edit 2: I think he said "Jeremy." Also, Friedman said he spoke with Berman later and that Berman was not upset at all...
who is the little kid in the background grabbing all the bricks? he could start at the 4! coach didn't like his question at all about teams taking it easy as the all star rolls around.
that was pretty funny, those were some dumb ass questions. i don't think mchale respects the houston media.
so he has no idea how to develop consistency.... how about you start doing things more consistently. consistent rotation, minutes, etc. and let player get used to a routine of doing things before you decide to change it up.
It sounds like you want the Rockets to be coached by a robot. Every team the Rockets play is different, why play the exact rotation against every team? I want the coach to make adjustments in the lineup or rotation in order to give more minutes to players that are having a good game, or to players that have some kind of advantage over our opponent.
Berman came off as very unprofessional and the question sucked. The better phrasing would be: how do you keep the team focused with the break approaching.
I dont see why Berman would be upset. He asked a bad question and kept pushing it and being a smart ass. McHale should be the one who is upset.
Wow, I'd forgotten all about team focus with the All Star break approaching. Seriously. Anyone remember the vigorous anal-raping the Suns put on the Rockets before the last All Star game here? I was pissed, pissed, because it was obvious the team had lost its focus---gotta get home, got the Game here this weekend, all these people wanna come by the crib, hope when Morey (at that time, maybe it was CD, gotta check) talks to all the visiting GMs I don't get traded...
Mchale trolling on the Media..."What the hell kinda question are yall asking today??" Berman:"They werent all bad" McHale:"Yes they were" LOLLLLLL
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I don't think the last question was a bad question at all, I doubt Pop or Doc Rivers would have given that answer, but at the same time I don't have a problem with how McHale reacted, he's always been like that with the media. Mark Berman was pissed because he felt McHale "dissed" him in the beginning of the interview and thats when he started to fire back. Being a reporter himself and with his ego hurt already, he felt like needed to stick up for his fellow reporters.
Lol the best part was when McHale didn't even look at him when he said that and just walked off. I was gonna be more towards Berman's side since McHale was pretty condescending to begin with, but after the "it ain't algebra" remark by Berman, I didn't feel for him at all.
I just watched the video. What a little fat piece of ****. Who the **** does he think he is? Mchale should've rambis'd him.
