As it has been said the Rockets are the youngest team in the league. However when you actually look at the age of experience it's mind blowing how youthful the rockets are. If you double the Rocket's average years played (1.7) , they are still the younger than the 4th least experienced team (3.5) (cavs). The Hornets are the second youngest and are currently last in the conference. http://en.hispanosnba.com/teams/comparison Side note: Rockets also weight more than any other team. Who knew.
Youngest, least experienced, lowest payroll, yet still around the 8th best team in the league. That's super impressive. Just imagine if Morey had traded for Pau
This is what I have concluded from those numbers: - Les is a cheap Charlie. - Cheapest players + longest contracts. - Cheapest and YOUNGEST players. - Cheapest, youngest, and FATTEST players in NBA. Tell me if there are better reasons NOT to like our Rockets!?
I think it'd be a different story if you use playing time as weight. Our youngest and least experienced players(all 3 rookies) are not playing, while teams like Cav's are playing the rookies heavy minutes. In other words, our rookies pretty much should be counted out of the calculation in terms of age/experience vs record correlation.
Not to mention the fact that we have like 5 power forwards and 3 centers, which is almost twice the amount of "big men" that most rosters carry.
Yep, as far as experience goes, we are dead last. Yet will have still accumulated a winning record. Amazing isn't it?
