If the playoffs started today we would be facing the Spurs. We obviously don't want them or the Thunder. That leaves the Clippers, Grizzlies, Nuggets, and Warriors. I will leave out Utah, because the chance of a 4/5 or 3/6 match up between them and the Rockets is slim as the west is stacked. I think the Rockets can finish as high as 5th seed. Clippers, by far. Spurs and Thunder are simply better, Clippers I can see us beating in a 7 game series.
If today, Clippers given the state of health; if they were healthy, I'd pick the Grizzlies since out of the others, they have shown the least likely to keep our pace.
Seriously guys? Am I the only one that sees 'Warriors' as a choice in this question? How could anyone rather play the Clippers/Grizz over the Warriors?
It's pretty remarkable how about 6 games ago even Bill and Bullard were talking about missing the playoffs and waiting till next season.
The question is which team do you prefer, not which team are we most likely to beat. Everyone knows the Rockets won't be contending this season, but an entertaining first round series is something we can see happening. I wouldn't be surprised if we beat the Nuggets in the first round. Harden would be the best player on the court. I prefer: Warriors Nuggets Grizzlies Clippers
We blew the Grizz out just like we did the Warriors, only we did it without 57% three point shooting. We simply match up better against the Grizz, big slow teams who hate running and like pounding the paint with post players are terrible against us. Our last game against GSW was more of a freak thing where we were insanely hot from three point land. It would be a pretty even matchup in a full playoff series.
I say clippers cuz they are a team built to fail. Not to mention the only team listed that we could actually face. Rockets are going to play either the spur, thunder or clippers...We just need grizzles to start losing now.
Anyone but Oklahoma or Denver. Those are the two teams we seem to match up the worst against. Spurs and Clippers are better than us but you would have some close games. Very unlikely at this point that we will get a 1st round match against any team besides those four.
