Haha! Funny you mention it. Clutch actually helped me out with this yesterday, and we discovered (and subsequently worked out) a kink with my Google Hangout settings! Thanks again, Clutch!
Bima, be sure to tell Jason that we admire the work he's doing on Rockets.com (I certainly do), but would admire it even more if he'd give his guests on Rocketscast more time to speak relative to his own (and I don't mean that the guests need to be related!). :-D-
Well done... definitely worth watching if you missed it. I liked the Dalembert and Diop examples that were brought up.
Phenomenal job, Bima! Looked like a natural out there. Pretty much had all the important stuff covered. Again, we're so fortunate to have a cap genius like you. Keep up the good work!
great info Bima Sammy D'Alembert is a name I haven't heard here but that's very intriguing. I would be happy using our cap space for him or Diop or Rip Hamilton, depending on what we get for taking on that salary. That type of move seems like the best way to use our cap space and still have max room this summer.

maury needs to hire this man! it would make his life easier. we also need dr. bimathug to transition to the texans part of the forum.
Great job Bima! Noticed you didn't talk about Josh Smith initially, focusing instead on Al Jeff and Milsap. I'm assuming you'd rather the Rockets get one of the two for a playoff run this year as opposed to Smith. Does the Smith allure for Howard impact Morey's thinking here? ...assuming Ferry is not asking for the moon. btw: I'd be happy with Sammy part Deux
regarding a camby-esque deal. i think the nuggets are being overlooked in these conversations. koufus ($3M/yr for 3yrs) is their starting center, while his backup is $10M+ mcgee. iggy is due $16.16M next year, but he has an eto. if iggy doesn't opt out their team salary will be $68.68M. they have two other backup centers in mozgov ($3.1M & expiring) and anthony randolph ($1.7M/yr for 3yrs) who barely get off the bench. the rockets need to improve their d behind asik and any of those two are capable of the task.
Thanks, everybody, for the kind words. I was a bit nervous that I would come off as either/both (a) some "nobody" who the audience would deem irrelevant and/or (b) boring in general. But Jason and Craig do a great job facilitating the conversation and not letting it get too boring/stagnant. Ended up having even more fun than I thought I would. Ha! I actually tend to LIKE Jason's "rambling," as the vast majority of what he is saying is thoughtful and cogent. I could listen to him ramble for hours . . . which I suppose I've already done by listening to so many of the prior Rocketscasts! Seriously, though, I didn't get a chance to tell Jason how much the ClutchFans community appreciates his spirit of cooperation with Clutch and how he sees the potential synergies created when both CF.net and Rockets.com work together. If he wanted to, Jason could really be a thorn in our collective sides; but he's the exact opposite of that. He's a good friend to the site and promotes it often. What do you mean, we didn't discuss it?! I guess you haven't "cracked the code" embedded within our discussion. (Hint: You'll get your answer if you take every "X"-th word and form the secret phrase.) Yeah, I'm just curious what Chicago or Charlotte would give up there. I've heard that the Bulls are holding out hope that they can actually ACQUIRE an asset for Hamilton rather than giving one up. As for Diop (who, FYI, I do NOT see as a particularly helpful player for the Rockets), I don't know if the Bobcats' management (which has actually made some decent moves recently) would continue to trade away future second rounders. Milwaukee will likely want an asset in exchange for Dalembert. You'd think a guy as smart as Daryl would have figured this out by now! Seriously, though, I love my firm and am happy where I am now. (But if Sam Hinkie or Gersson Rosas got a GM gig elsewhere and Daryl needed a new #2 or #3 guy, I wouldn't exactly hang up on him if he called...) I'm not as sold that either (a) the Rockets could trade for Josh Smith over Paul Millsap; and (b) that Josh Smith would want to re-sign in Houston for what the Rockets would offer him. I also think the notion of Josh Smith luring Dwight Howard to an NBA team are severely overblown. JAMES HARDEN will draw Dwight Howard to Houston much moreso than Josh Smith would. If Dwight Howard says no to Houston for Atlanta, it wouldn't be (solely) because of Josh Smith. No, thanks (to Randolph). As for Mozgov, I'd be at least a little interested. He's an upgrade over Aldrich. But is he enough of an upgrade that you'd trade future assets for him? That's the question.
Listening to it right now. Bima looks like a true lawyer. I see you also brought up Sammy D. Again, I'd love to see this happen. Agreed on Randolph. I think the answer on Mozgov is no, but I haven't watched him too much and apparently the Rockets coaching staff had high praise for him when they played the Nuggets(?).
The Rockets would probably have sign the max player first to use up that cap space, and then after that do the deal for Danny Granger but the salaries have to match the CBA rules.
Great job with the podcast, BimaThug. Your breadth of knowledge on the CBA and general workings of the league is truly impressive. We're privileged to have you as a regular poster here.
