I'm pretty sure there has been a thread about top 5 all-time shows before, but this is specifically for Drama Series For me it would be, 1. The Wire 2. The Sopranos 3. Game of Thrones (though I can flip/flop this with BB) 4. Breaking Bad 5. Six Feet Under It's really hard to make up a top 5 since there are so many great Drama Series' out there. I really liked Lost too, just hard to put it in above these.
1. Friday Night Lights 2. Deadwood 3. The Wire 4. Breaking Bad 5. Twin Peaks Honorable mentions: Game of Thrones (still too soon for top 5), Firefly, Freaks and Geeks, The Sopranos, Rome I love Lost, but it was too gimmicky to put on a list, and to me these were shows that were amazing episode by episode, season by season. EDIT - I forgot West Wing, doh!
I LOVED the Unit. Had it not had all of the side-stories featuring the wives it would easily have been in my top five. I know why they did it, for broader appeal, but all the extra drama took away from the action. I love the Walking Dead, but it is nowhere near as amazing as the source material.

I miss the Sunday nights in the late 2000's when there was too much entertaining stuff between 8:00 and 10:00 pm, and not a lick of it was on broadcast TV. At one point it seemed like you had Mad Men, Dexter, True Blood, Big Love, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Californication and Entourage all on the same night. I'm really thrown by how bad NBC has gotten. I remember when West Wing, ER and Law & Order were all still on, I have to think some of their better seasons were the best in television. Depressing that you can't make the West Wing ever again and that Grey's Anatomy's probably ruined medical shows.
I've only watched: Friday Night Lights.. I watched Breaking Bad till the part where they kill the guy who learned how to cook meth like the main character.. Its just too time consuming.. Should I continue watching it? Does it get better?
The show is (IMHO) the one show that actually gets better every season. I don't know how they do that, but yes...you should continue watching. If you mean you stopped at the end of Season 3 (Gale meets Jesse) then YES!!!! The final 5-6 episodes of Season 4 are among the best TV i've ever seen.
