They just need to do a better job of telling you the score. I use to listen to Mavericks games on their ESPN station when I lived up there. They would repeat the score after every commercial break and after every score. It's been more than a few times now where I'll tune into 790 during a commercial break during the game, and when the game comes back on, they won't say the score. Lin would score and they would say "seven early points by Lin", but what the hell is the score? It took a while before they said the score. Just a little pet peeve of mine.
Life after the Rockets I have been a longtime fan and still am of the Rockets. Just like everyone else I was/am upset with the Rockets ownership for not getting this deal done before the season. Regardless of whos fault it is, ownership has a responsibility to have its product viewed be the home city. I have watched the Rockets games religiously for over 30 years and my run has come to an end and have found life goes on. Life after the Rockets. I never thought I could not be in tune with the team, players and progress of my local team. But to be honest, out of sight and out of mind. I have been able to refocus time spent watching endless games with my family and home projects. At the end of the day I still try to catch a box score, but my Rockets detox has gone well. I like others will not be played by Comcast and the media spin to change my provider. I think the network will be good long term, but the way it has been executed was very poor and you cannot leave die hard fans out in the cold while you negotiate. So im still a fan, but have a different view of sports in this new era. If you have a great team, maybe. But when you are trying to build a team and generate excitement this is very poor timing.
I agree with literally every word of this post. It's exactly where I am as a Rockets/sports fan as well. Honored to give you your first rep points.
Craig Akerman and Joel "Rhyme Guy" Blank are absolutely awful. During the GSW game, Ackerman talked through two freethrows and a layup on the other end. Then said, "Patterson made one missed one I believe, then Jack with a layup on the other end". He couldn't even remember if he made both or missed one. I think Joel chimed in and confirmed that he'd missed one. And his fake radio announcer voice is just the works. "OHHHGHHGHHGHHAAAOOOHHHHH" after dunks are just terrible. BUT I find it hilarious when he does that and they miss or dish it off and he has to stop mid voicegasm and say "no he dished it off". And Joel Blank poorly rhymes halftime and post game highlights. One time rhyming a Scola move and "smooth as exlax". He's trash.
wouldn't it be bigger news and we all have known by now? we know when kate upton takes a poops...just sayin'
I called direct tv and she didn't have it on record that it was available yet. But she said if an agreement was reached today it wouldn't update that fast.
I also heard this on 790 yesterday. It was one of those testimonial commercials where they got "real Houstonians" to say "I want my CSN Houston" a bunch of times and at the end they quickly dropped the "Now DirecTV has CSN Houston" bomb and I was like "wuuut?"
I don't have DirecTV, but I'm really hoping this is true because Uverse would presumably be quick to follow.
Can anyone with DirecTV confirm this??? I'm at work but will check as soon as I get home. Would love to be able to watch the game tonight
I just called DirectTv and the person I talked to said they had heard nothing. So I asked to talk to a supervisor was put on hold and then it disconnected on me.
I'd have to believe DirecTV would have a press release out about this almost immediately. Searching through Google News under CSN Houston, there's nothing to suggest this has happened.
