A&M looks like the most promising school next year behind Alabama but lets not forget that it was a joke of a program for a decade with losing seasons mixed in with mediocre ones. Make your bones, win for a few years before you become all out. I'm sure Sumlin will do just that but you don't have the years till you have the years. It is not as easy as it sounds. If you are being genuine... man I feel sorry for you. Get a hobby. Not a terrible class. Swoops could be really really good and picking up some offensive line help for him is good news. Building on one of the youngest top 25 teams in the country feels good for next year. Annoying to do all that legwork and lose a few good recruits but it is what it is. You can't be the bell of the ball year after year. There aren't many years where UT is not in the top 5 but they are way the hell down this year. Everyone will only get better and with Jones leaving this team has a good shot at 11 wins. Really happy to keep Manny Diez. I don't fault him for the defense after he lost his two best players in Hicks and Jeffcoat. If you can't get penetration on the ends or stop in the middle than you have problems. Texans had the same thing happen to them when Cushing went down. SUPER happy to see that joke of an offensive coordinator leave. It is pretty funny to see people both mock the QB and the offense and then mock UT for losing Hardin. Offense either sucks and losing him was no big deal or the offense is great and losing him was a statement on how the program is "falling." It's going to be a long offseason.

Maybe not having a 5 star recruit will be good for them. It hasn't helped them the past couple of years after all. I think LZ said it best on the radio yesterday, recruit day means absolutely nothing except to those who want to troll on message boards.

Good point, but it still goes back to coaching. You have all these 5 star recruits and can't do anything with them. I mean, Mack has done less with more than any other coach in the past 10 years. VY got him a NC and talent alone combined with a weak schedule has gotten him multiple 10 win seasons which is why he's still around. Looking back at that NC, did you guys see any good coaching in that game or did you see VY just running all over the field and improvising?

I was at the school for that first win at Ohio St when the streets were filled with car horns. I was on the street celebrating when we won that championship. That was Mack's championship. The same haters that say it was all VY also say that the Alabama guy was all Colt. I'll buy VY was one of the best college QBs ever but to say that colt was as well is a joke. You have no idea what it is like to just win 10 games season after season. So you know what, I get it. You want Mack gone because he made UT into a powerhouse and national champion. So my friend just texted me and said that the Alabama OL coach is headed to the NFL. And our OL is in the running to replace him. Info from a paysite apparently. Our football program is a f-cking Francis Bacon painting now.
According to Brando, everything is fine and after all he should know, I mean, he was there during some Ohio State Championship and 10 win seasons, so Dodds and Mack should stay. I think it's hilarious that when UT is on top of the world and winning championships, their fans gloat and refer to other Universities as "Cougar High" and "Poor Aggy" jokes are rampant. Then they try to force VY down our throats as Houston Texan fans and disown our NFL franchise simply because they didn't draft Uncle Rico to be their QB. Then they all become Titans fans and Austin starts showing Titans games on TV instead of Texans games. We suffered this for 4-5 years and now that Mack and Dodds have burnt this football program to the ground in favor of profits over performance we finally get to get some revenge and the UT fans show in this very thread that they can dish it but they sure as hell can't take it and on top of that VY showed his true colors and was 3rd string in Buffalo of all places and now these clowns are slowing becoming Texans fans again and Austin is no longer showing Titans games on local TV. If it isn't Karma, I don't know what is.

I think VY was the greatest college quarterback I've ever seen play the game. I don't dislike him. But I do dislike 99% of you who shoved him down my throat as a Texans fan and while I was in Austin, I disliked the fact that I had to watch Titans games on my TV. I also dislike my university being referred to as Cougar High. VY is the reason why Mack has a championship. He's had one of the highest recruiting record in the past 10 years and only has one national championship to show for it thanks to VY.
