Demarcus would be ideal, but he's not for sale. He's also mentally unstable. Bynum would be nice if he was brought in for $8m per with non-guarantee clauses included. That's hnot happening though so after Yao's issues you'd have to pass.

It would be nice to get someone that was both physically healthy and mentally stable, but I guess that's like catching lightning in a bottle these days.

Oh please God NO!!...Not another Yao Ming. It doesn't matter how good a player is if he's never able to play. This thread just ruined my morning!!:mad::eek:

If we singned both d-HO and Amanda Bynums, the team might get 82 games combined out of those porcelain figurines. Or we could just keep The "Iron" Asik (how many games has he missed?) who is playing twice as many minutes this year than he ever has and is showing NO signs that its effecting him. Yeah those dudes score more points than Omer, but they don't rebound any better or play better D. We got scoring out the ass on this team, we need to improve our bench and overall defense.

I have a quick question on that line of thinking. Do you think guys a crazier now or do you think it is because of media over-exposure?

Because to me it does seem like guys are a little wilder now. However, it made me wonder if the guys from the Golden Age of basketball were just as nuts but we didnt hear about it?

Can you imagine the ego on guys like:

    1. Pisol Pete
    2. Jerry West
    3. Larry Bird
    4. Magic Johnson
    5. What if DREAM was bat-crap nuts?

Anyways, just a question to mull over in our minds

Forget the caveat about "for what we're paying him" Asik is better than Bynum (period). If he wants to come in for the veterans minimum to back him up maybe we'll consider it.

So are the same people who cleared Royce to play also going to clear Howard and Bynum?

White didn't really have a history of flaking out. Sure he had anxiety syndrome, but his college career also included a lot of flying and he was able to go through that pretty well.

Bynum oth has had a history of being lazy and got thrown under the bus by both his trainer Kareem and "anonymous sources" (aka Kareem).

Even if you forgot all his bad history and the doctors cleared him...the dude managed to re injure his knee on a career year by playing bowling. Health issues aside, he's a grade-A moron. You expect someone like that to lead you to a ring? Pass.

I have no doubt in my mind that most of these rumors are planted by agents, they know Houston has an available max contract so our name is going to be floating around in a lot of trade and FA rumors no matter what.
