all things considered to play miami 2nd night back to back did great not so long ago this would have been a blowout.
Don't think I'd say that. 3/10, but 6/6 from the FT line (fouled 3 times on 2 point attempts) for 13 points. That works out to 6/13 or so, so not great but not bad either. His assist total was low (3) but his TO's weren't bad (2). He didn't have a good game or a terrible game. At worst you can say it was below average. And his defense was decent for the most part, at least as decent as you can get versus the Heat. Lin didn't cost us the game unless you're arguing him not having a great game cost us the game. Of course, that would be ignoring that we scored above our average and that the game basically boiled down to 2 charge calls, a missed rebound, and Lebron getting on fire from the 3 point line early on. That's playing on the 2nd night of a back to back against a rested Heat team. Seriously, the team did fine (including Lin). Our real weak spots were Morris missing shots and Morris/Patterson not rebounding to save their lives. Heck, Harden got 11 rebounds.... double our PF's combined.
ya i'm getting tired of McHale switchin up rotations trust ur starters Anderson must of impressed in practice
Harden's last quarter or the last 5 minutes was michael Jordan like. He was by far the best player out there tonight. 36-12-7 on 10-15 shooting along with 3 steals and 3-5 from the 3pt line. If he had another plyer stepup we would have won this game.
A little disappoint at Lin's performance. Rockets need someone beside Harden and Parsons to step up in order to beat a team like the Heat. But in fairness, Lin didn't get to touch the ball much at all in the final minutes.
Heat don't play defense like that every night, they just know our backcourt isn't the best so they trapped guards
Also like others pointed out, our bigs other than Asik really let the Rox down on the boards tonight. Heat got key put back all night long. Harden had to go in the paint and board tonight with 12 reb. No one stepped up and helped Harden tonight but Asik.
People acting like Lin had 8 points 8 TOs or something. He got 13 and 3 with 2 TOs. He played poorly but it's not even close to his worst, and this is with Miami playing him like it's the playoffs and he's Kobe. He's done FAR worse this season against scrub teams. If anything the fact he had only 2 TOs shows me he's improved in dealing with the defensive pressure.
agree, actually jlin should have taken that last shot because you know they were going to double team harden he has to work on his confidence in his shot it is slowly coming back though
For a back to back on the road against Miami, Houston did great. The team starters matched each Miami starter position, with the exception of the #4 position, which is just so weak. Coaching made the adjustments in the 3rd, by rotating Parsons, Patterson, and Anderson. I think this allowed switching of some of the defenses and the team cut into Miami’s lead. Coaching did the same rotation in the 2nd half of the 4th which gave Houston another chance. I think Miami’s perimeter defense and PG defense is just so good. They basically double and triple teamed Lin all night. Lin should take that as a big compliment from the reigning champs. He still had a decent game overall, with only 2 TOs, even from all those traps. Harden seemed to play better defense against Lebron than against Wade, go figure. Another superstar night for the 80mm man. Almost another triple double. The Houston bench is too weak without Delfino, getting outplayed again. Also, with Haslem in there, Miami was basically playing three forwards. For being 6’ 8”, he matched Asik with 13 rebounds. Parsons, Patterson, Anderson, and Morris had a total of 8 rebounds. I really think if this team had a better #4 spot with better defense and better rebounding, they could have beat the Heat.

Ppl talking about Lin hiding when he dropped 28/9 the other night. LOL Wasn´t his best game, but come on...
I don't like McHales penchant for going with his gut feelings during the 4th quarter. Parsons should've been out there. Win or lose we should've had our boy out there to contribute or learn. And Asik sitting in the 4th (not this game) is inexcusable as well in my opinion. Until we get a solid star level pf, our front court needs to have Asik in there as much as possible. Sigh~ can't be too mad though. Harden made our loss easy, I guess
I agree with you 100%. Lin is not great but not terrible either. If we have more rebounds and better officiating tonight, we win with Harden beasting like that.
