I think the Rockets were rubbing it in a bit. Up by 30 and still firing 3's in the final seconds? You guys would all be angry if a team did this to us.

I'd be angry alright, but at my team.

This is why these young Rockets need a vet like KG to slap them around when they try this kind of mess.

Mark Jackson is the first coach in basketball history to run up the score on his own team.

If Greg Smith came out and tried to fire the 3, then it'd be wrong; but the Warriors knew that the Rockets' offense is predicated on 3's and drives, as such the Rockets have the most 3 pt attempts out of all the teams, meaning that this is what the Rocket does and will continue to do. Which is why the dunk wasn't so bad imo; if you're focusing on defending only the 3, then I'll gladly take it to the hole.

And the taunting looked excessive due to the 30 point lead, but guess what, if you're sole duty in the game at that moment is to make every 3 point attempt fail just out of spite because of a blowout loss, then I'd dunk the ball and say what Beverly said too.

as long as there is a shot clock and an open three point shooter, I don't see what was wrong. they want to block the three pointer, they are going to get dunked on.

stop feeling sorry for the Warriors is what I would say to the sissies.

They showed it on the scoreboard multiple times that we were close, when we tied it the guy behind me bumped me and my group and said "We just tied the record, we only need one more! 3 more minutes!"

The chant came on pretty quickly after that, some GS guy was on the FT line when I first heard it start up. I'm guessing GS didn't know about it until then.

The Pat Beverley dunk was before the intentional fouling began.

I was under the assumption that the Red Rowdies somehow started the chant from "We Want a Three!" or "One More Three" or both.

I only have one problem with the whole deal, I understand being angry that you're getting clowned, but why weren't you throwing those hard fouls in the 3 quarter when the Rockets were 16-20 from the arc? Where was that fire when it could've actually affected the outcome of the game? To adopt that stategy after the bench was cleared seemed a little pointless to me. It kind of became a game within the game just to save face.

The Rockets weren't rubbing it in. To the guys on the bench those are important minutes regardless of the score. Hell, D-Mo managed to score 5 points in a minute and half the other night against Nuggets when we were down 20. Once you put your scrubs in you've called off the dogs. It's not our fault that our scrubs can still shoot three's.

I feel that we need to make a distinction between running up the score and breaking a record. Our intention was not to humiliate them further by adding more points but to break the record. At that time, we couldn't care if we were only up by 10 or 30 points, our goal was to reach 24.

It's an expression coined by Mark Jackson (when he was a commentator) to comment about a made basket due to bad or lack of defense.

I'm not mad at Mark Jackson -- I'd do the exact same thing in his situation. Well, I'd prefer my team to play adequate defense, but since they can't, hell yeah I'd foul until the game was over. It's not that the Rockets were doing anything wrong either, but if you don't want to get shown up by the other team and don't want to see your name on the wrong side of the record book, you have to go do something about and not just complain.

    Mark is a pansy b****.
He's lucky we don't have a crazy enforcer on our team. Someone in a GSW would have been knocked out.
