Morey isn't going to trade Harden after working so hard to get a player of his caliber. You don't make a move for a 23 yr old cornerstone, give him a max deal, and trade him just months later. If we treated Harden that way, no all-star player would ever want to play here.

Here's another thought. Doc is trying to create a thread that will get 1,000 posts without really being about anything.

Perhaps there was a wager involved, and whoever wins it will be the champ or something of that nature.

Maybe the bet is with someone who is a boss within the Rockets organization or Clutch himself.

 

I'd say KG for Royce White makes a lot of sense from the C's perspective if they are blowing things up. But how will the Rockets make the trade work from a money perspective I don't know. Maybe that's why Dallas & Washington are involved. Or Rubio.

Can't see Lin being involved. Who would want to take that contract and covet him over Wall or Rubio. Maybe Washington...but can't see them biting on that contract. Plus Morey went through so much to get him. Seems unlikely they would sour on him so quickly.

As for the Harden references...its ludicrous to think we'd trade him for Rubio + Love. Harden is evolving into a bona fide superstar in this league. Potentially the heir apparent to Kobe and Wade at the toughest position to fill. I don't think he'll be moved unless we get a ridiculous amount in return.

Rubio and Wall references don't make much sense to me. Unless it's an entirely separate trade we are talking for.

Perhaps there are 2 trades going on here. And all of this isn't about trading Harden, but building around him.

I could see the argument of putting a wall or rubio next to harden, getting a kevin garnett for royce white, and that translating us into an instant contender.
