Indeed, prime Iverson was something else. I remember when he carried his team against Shaq & Kobe; and he's only really 5'10 or 5'11 too. And maybe Irving can surpass AI; it sure does look like he can right now.

I never said Lin sucks? Please point out where I said Lin sucks!.. I'm saying that those other players are better offensively and they would destroy most of their competition, this includes jeremy lin. Did you not read that part? Are you guys not overrating Lin half the time? So why can't I underrate him? All I said was, it doesnt matter if its Lin or Douglas because Curry is a great player, so he will do good if he is healthy. Y'all show hate on Douglas and what not.. What's up with that? Maybe Douglas could hold his own at times..

Point 1: curry, Westbrook, rose, cp3 and Irving are the best guards in the game. Offensively.
Point 2: Lin may hold his own, but those guys at any given moment can destroy their completion no matter WHO IT IS.
Point 3: I never said Lin sucks.

I asked that to see if he was biased or not in his support of Lin and I completely agreed his view on Bledsoe.

And the reason I put iversom video because someone said this is why you shouldn't practice and just play the official games..

Irving could shoot 3s from all areas. He played off the ball before.

Irving was 19 when Lin "destroyed" him.

Let's be real, Lin is a nice player with room to improve but he is nowhere near Irving's level.

Kyrie is great offensively but he is terrible in defence. I agree that his superior to lin on offence but not defensively.

Yes that might be true but perimeter defense doesn't win games, and even the greatest defensive players won't stop great scorers from scoring. That's how the NBA has always been.

In other words, Irving's offense wins games, but Lin's defense doesn't. That is not a criticism towards Lin, he is a very good defensive player. Irving just has huge presence on the court.

It's the NBA today man, all about offense.

As Uncle Drew said, "it's all about the buckets"

Kyrie Irving has such great presence on the court that his team is in the lottery.

I agree that Kyrie is a superstar talent in this league but he's not going anywhere until he can learn a lick of defense or until the Cavs can surround him with a lot of great defenders to compensate.

He's also a mediocre facilitator. People are too hung up on labels, Kyrie plays the same role as Harden. The comparison should be Kyrie vs Harden.

Examples: heat, celtics, mavs.. But that was a team effort.

    Harden : no d
    Irving : no d

Mavs had even dirk playing d that year.

Have you seen how atrocious that team is? The fact that they even win games is a miracle.

Kyrie doesn't play the same role as Harden, Kyrie plays the role of scorer because he is the only scorer on that team.

Seriously, it's not a hard concept. Lin will be shooting a lot more if he was on the Cavs as well and his facilitation would be masked.

    To date NBA stats:

    Assists - Lin #20 vs Irving #29
    Steals - Lin #3 vs Irving #7
    Rebounds - Lin #161 vs Irving #173
    Turnovers - Lin #12 vs Irving #4
    PPG - Lin #100 vs Irving #6

So is Irving a shoot first guard or a pass first guard?

The current Cavs team makes him a score first pg. he can pass the rock.

I would argue that if Lin was on the cava team, he's numbers would be better across the board. He would likely to shoot more, therefore more points, then he would handle the rock most of the time which leads to higher usage rate --- more assists and likely more TOs.

Right now he's a SG not a PG so he shouldn't even be compared to Lin. Compare him to Harden.

I'm wondering how he'll transition when (and if) he gets another star next to him. He reminds me of Iverson and I'm thinking the Cavs will try to get a bunch of defense first guys to surround him. That squad can go far IMO.

I'm not so sure how much higher his assists rates would rise, a lot of that usage rate would be dedicated to scoring more.

His scoring efficiency would go down A LOT though, and that's what makes Irving so gifted. Such an efficient scorer despite being the only scoring presence on the court.

This would go back to the season long argument of whether Lin is an efficient scorer off the ball. His track record indicates he's likely more efficient with the ball.

    But then again, small sample.
