Im surprised that the Crabtree play was a no call, but at that stage of the game...with the magnitude of that down, it was a good thing the refs stayed out of it...and ive definitely seen worse holding calls that were totally missed...(besides i thought that roughing the kicker call was totally bogus) what was bad was the terrible play selection that they chose to run...after that huge Frank Gore Run 1-10-BAL 7 (2:39) (Shotgun) 23-L.James right guard to BAL 5 for 2 yards (59-D.Ellerbe; 93-D.Tyson). we all wouldve done that...so that is fine Two-Minute Warning 2-5-BAL 5 (2:00) (Shotgun) 7-C.Kaepernick pass incomplete short right to 15-M.Crabtree (24-C.Graham). why did this happen...and if youre gonna throw this close to the endzone...throw a fade route to Randy Moss or Vernon Davis..or just run the ball Timeout #2 by SF at 01:55. If the coach knew he was gonna throw the ball at the 2 minute warning, why didnt he have the third down play ready as well??? and was forced to burn yet another Timeout 3-5-BAL 5 (1:55) 7-C.Kaepernick pass incomplete short right to 15-M.Crabtree (22-J.Smith). This was just a big time hit...and jar-d the ball loose from crabtree...nothing that can be done 4-5-BAL 5 (1:50) (Shotgun) 7-C.Kaepernick pass incomplete short right to 15-M.Crabtree. 4th and season...with 1 more timeout remaining...this is where you take a timeout...and make sure everyone is on the same page...you have one chance for the TD, you want to be sure that it is your best play..
In regards to the no-call in the 4th-down 49er play, Crabtree initiated the contact. In regards to the safety play at the end of the game (second-to-last play before the free kick), if there's a holding, it's a safety. That's still the same ending score, but maybe two or three less seconds or the time still runs off the same amount, then the flag is enforced. You're complaining about something that wouldn't have made a difference whatsoever, technically, morally, ethically, etc., etc.
I think Randy Moss was underutilized by the 49ers most of the season I watched some games. . .and moss was open but just . it seemed, was not an option Rocket River
that awkward moment when you realize if this was a rockets game and a rockets player got called for a foul, the OP and everyone else would be screaming, "OMG YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO SWALLOW THE WHISTLE AT THE END OF GAMES!"
I'm all for letting the players play. It just felt like the Ravens were getting away with murder out there.
49'ers had a dropped TD in the endzone and a fumble in the redzone. That's a possible 11pts wiped off the board. I don't think they needed the long timeout, they were threatening the entire time, just caught bad breaks.
Crabtree initiated contact within 5 yards, perfectly legal, and then tried to pull back and then was held by the Ravens DB. It was a terrible no call. You hate to see officials put in a spot like that at the end of the game, but it was too egregious not to call. That holding penalty in the endzone might have added more time to the clock which might have given them a chance for one play at the 50 where Ginn returned it to. Thats more just showing that the refs had quit calling penalties at that point.
My concern is the 3rd down play where it is clear that the Raven defender led with his helmet and made a hit to the receivers head that should have been flagged as a helmet to helmet shot or hitting a defenseless receiver. We wouldn't be talking about the 4th down no call if the refs call the 3rd down personal foul. In any other game that shot to the head is called...if you look at the 3rd down play it is clearly a shot to the head.

i watched the same game and dont know what you saw on that 3rd down play...and he clearly dislodged the ball with his shoulders...
All I know is I have been looking all day on ESPN and I finally see them talking about the 3rd down play as being more of a penalty then the 4th down play. Sportsnation channel 207 just said it should have been helmet to helmet defenseless receiver penalty.
There's no way that holding in the end zone could have added more time to the clock. Let's assume the refs throw the flag - the play would continue just as it did. The refs would blow the play dead when the punter was pushed out of bounds, then enforced the holding penalty. They would not have added time to the clock. And since the penalty would have been a safety, the net outcome would be no different then what actually happened.

But why nobody talks about the akers flop, after he missed his FG, that was a terrible call too, and awarded 3 points to the 49ers, so they ravens should have been up by 8 points, and 49ers couldnt score to win the game, just to tie it.
Lol at flop, dude was under his leg while his leg was in the air. Ravens were lucky that was running into the kicker and not roughing the kicker.
Seems like poor planning by the NFL. I was skeptical that they would actually add time back, but wasn't positive since I don't know if I've seen it happen.
