I have no data of course, but I'm just not feeling it. Not only do I think she wouldn't win in the general, I don't think she'll win in the primary. I'll bookmark this thread so I can come crow if I'm right (and stay mum if I'm wrong ).
Yeah to be clear, the entire landscape could radically change in 3 years. I do think a lot of Dems who were exuberant about Obama in 2008 have cooled, and that makes Clinton look better. She's also been a highly successful SoS. She may of course pass on the chance to run.
In reality, it's 2 years away. Maybe as much as 30 months from now, the campaigns will have started. As far as Texas goes, all she has to do is be a threat to win the state. That becomes a major problem for republicans because they'll have to spend money campaigning in this enormous state, taking valuable resources away from other battlegrounds. Even losing Texas, just creating a fight here would be a victory for any democrat nominee.
Republicans are scared to death of her. They've already started to chip away at her and will continue to do so. If Hillary does run, hopefully she's learned from 2008 that nobody is entitled to the nomination (and presidency) and she will have to earn it the hard way. If Republicans have their hopes pinned on Marco Rubio, Dems should celebrate. He has a loooooooooong way to go and I have serious doubts he ever gets there. He might be OK as a veep choice.
Can you imagine? If you had a child four years ago there's a chance that child would turn 16 knowing only minority presidents. How cool is that?
Isn't it weird how whenever a woman or someone from a racial minority becomes powerful, they're always seen as "divisive"?
Never reported a post in my life until now. Horrible lack of respect for a dead American, no matter what side of the issues you fall on.
She will run. It makes sense for her to exit politics now to give her time to rest - she is already a household name. How do I know she will run? 1. She is being coy - so you know she is not ruling it out 2. Bill is dying to get back into the white house and be the first first husband 3. The opportunity to be the first woman president is too much of a carrot 4. The Democratic party will beg her to run.
Being president adds 10 years onto one's life. Seeing that she has been in public service for so long, I feel like she will become fatigued during the campaign and give whoever is running against her (I will say Rubio, for now) a shot. She would need to maintain a strong campaign all the way until Election Day to hold off someone like Rubio.
She's got 2 years to rest and recharge and this is the job she's wanted all her life. Barring any health issues between now and then, I will be shocked if she doesn't run.
C'mon now: No need to ask that question after what happened in 2007/08. Let's revisit in exactly 2 years. You might be surprised. She has a LOT going for her but there are huge negatives too. Forget Biden. Absolutely no way in the world. I read the stuff about how he's caught up in 2016. The guy is seriously delirious.
Well no **** Sherlock. Are you seriously trying to use that as excuse to post a picture like that, especially considering the context you posted it in? I can think of a thousands reasons but I won't even bother. I'll end it at saying that Stevens was a hero that MANY Libyans loved and admired, a hero who cared about a group of people enough to put his life on the line. This is the image we want to keep in our heads. and his impact to remember him by: We don't need grotesque ****ty photoshops to try and antagonize Obama at his expense.
Thanks to the admins for taking it down, and I think that should be reason enough to dispute you moondog. I like your posts in the hangout and GARM btw, so I don't think you are a bad poster.
