Probably wouldn't have to come off of Parsons because they have George. But they are going to need a power forward because West is a free agent after this season and so is their backup point guard so a package including Patterson, Douglas, Morris and a pick for Granger and our home town kid Green may work.

That seems more likely. I think Indy wants to show him off and prove he is healthy so they can get more value for him.

They might be interested in cap relief as much as replacement. Then they can resign West - if they want. In which case they might be interested in someone like Delfino, who is on a team option in the offseason and/or Cole, who is in his final year.

Not that I'd bicker with the above package either.

    How about this one

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=a4lrruk

Kings get rid of their headaches. Pelicans get a promising young for a great back up pf and a needed back up pg. Rockets improve in the front court while they maintain assets and flexibility.

    Lin / Douglas
    Harden / Delfino
    Parsons / Delfino
    Anderson / Jones or D-mo
    Cousins / Smith

Yea for sure. But I could see where Walsh was coming from - Granger can take some pressure off George this season. PG is being asked to take the toughest covers on the perimeter while carrying the team offensively. Having Granger back should really help an offense that really struggles when opponents load up on PG.

Yea, most GMs would say exactly what Walsh said (except Coangelo) but Walsh's reasons backing it were more than believable as well.

I got couple trades in mind.

First we trade: 2Pat + Delfino + Douglas + Pick
    Houston In: Granger, O. Johnson
Houston out: 2Pat, Delfino, Douglas + Pick

    then for second trade:

Houston In: Cousins, Evans, and bring back Chuck wagon
Housotn out: Lin, Parsons, Aldrich, Morris

if we make these 2 trade our line up would looks like

    Evans / Beverley
    Harden / O. Johnson / Anderson
    Granger / White
    Cousins / Donuts / TJ
    Asik / Chuck

That looks like a good team which have equal balance of offense power and defense power.

    What are your thoughts????

I like where you are headed but I don't think we could afford to keep that team together for very long. Those players would demand high pay increases. Starting with Evans next year and Cousins/Granger the year after. I don't think the Rockets want to stay above the cap hold like the Lakers and some other teams do.

    1. That package doesnt get Cousins & Evans
    2. Are we to assume we cut G.Smith in this scenario?

Oh i agree with you totally. but if you see this way Granger got 2 years. if this does happen there are 2 options what we can do.

first we sign Evans and then during the draft we can either trade cousins for a higher pick and get a SF just as backup and then if Granger wants too much then we can let him walk.

    Or

we can just trade Granger at next years Deadline, and teams whow wants cost cutting will pick him up such as Heat.

I see your logic. My personal choice would be to execute the trade I proposed on post #2045 of this thread however. We could maintain that team under the cap hold and have the flexibility to add quality depth. I really think if Harden is going to be your go to guy you have to have a stretch four to open up lanes for him.

or even this trade if you think Granger could be your stretch four.

    1. we can throw in TJ / White in that package also if needed.
    2. G. Smith is good but if needed you can include him in the package for granger.

with these trades we clear our PF position. where we have million of them.

with this trade i know Pacers will not be intrested bc they will be getting too many PG's when they have a good one in George Hill.

Really? Augustin sucks they have no quality back up which Brooks can provide. Plus they can let Aldrich and Douglas walk for cap relief next year.

Tyreke would play the 2 next to Hill and George in that scenario.

With NYK 2nds (via Hou) to the Pacers and Mem 2013 1st (via Min) to Magic

    Why

Orl- they get rid of long term contracts and tank

Pacers- Improve PG play, cut payroll, get a dangerous shooter (Delfino) on a very friendly contract, and two prospects still on rookie payrolls

T-wolves- Improve at the 2 spot with Afflalo

Houston IN: Bledsoe, Henderson, and mullens
    Charlotte IN: Morris, Jordan.
Clippers IN: b. Gordon, Aldrich and filler

Then trade Henderson, Patterson, Jones, Douglas and cash for josh smith.

    Lin/Bledsoe/Beverly
    Harden/Bledsoe
    Parsons/delfino (if traded, Anderson)
    Smith/ motiejunas
    Asik/ mullens

    Thoughts?
