I said I wouldn't watch it but it's the only thing super bowl I did watch except the very end of the game. It was okay and, like was said, some of the effects were good. But, reading some of the reviews elsewhere it was like the best thing since sliced bread or something. I think if you were a young black woman...you enjoyed it a helluva lot more. That's all I saw when they showed the crowd near her stage. It definitely was better than many other halftime shows.
not sure if people are serious in here. This show was the best one that's been put on in at least 10 years. Admittedly, that's not a saying a lot because you're going up against the likes of Madonna, Springsteen's crotch, and Tom Petty's free-falling act. But you also can't treat it like a normal concert- its a televised performance on short time, and from that aspect she nailed it. Great visuals and hit the highlights for the most part
It's always funny to me when we have threads on an artist's performance and people who hate the genre comment. What's the point? Honestly, if you didn't like Beyonce's performance then you probably have no appreciation for modern Pop R&B and/or modern hip hop dance. And, that's ok
Huh? There was a backing track vocal just like the national anthem at the inauguration? I don't think that is true. I said it was okay. That means I think it was good. It wasn't great for me b/c it's just not my music. But, I appreciated the scantily clad women and their dance moves...along with the special effects.
Visually, thought it looked good. Couldn't hear much of the singing. Destined child was there for a minute and then she kicked them off stage. Good to see Slash at the Super Bowl.
All I know is that Madonna was a debacle. There were times when she couldn't even step up onto a riser on the first or second try. Really, really bad.
Best half time show in years. Beyonce had it and all of the effects were awesome! The energy on stage was so much better than Madonna's performance last year. Madonna's not up for that type of performing anymore since she's older. She looked way too awkward.
Old white people=not as good as Madonna Young or Black People = Way better than Madonna As a 30+ Hispanic, I'll say it was better than Madonna but not much. My Super bowl halftime ranked since the "wardrobe malfunction": Prince 2007 Bruce Springsteen 2009 Paul McCartney 2005 Tom Petty 2008 Beyonce 2013 Rolling Stones 2006 Madonna 2012 Who 2010 Black Eyed Peas 2011 Only the top 3 were really good and the bottom 2 were bad. Everything else was mostly "meh"
As a 30+ white dude, I thought Beyonce was TONS better than Madonna. Tons. One of the better halftime shows I can recall, honestly.
THANK you! I'll give her credit: she married well. The Jay-Z connection is keeping her from sliding into the oblivion of Vegas Lounge Act. After a certain point in my life I no longer cared for the media-manipulation artists. Granted, they all play the game to some degree, but it seems that every word, every gesture, every Twittered good-morning crap is geared for the media to keep paying attention. Even Madonna in her prime would be pea-green with envy (although Madonna, too, has been good at drawing out her fame; see also, Madonna Lesbian Kiss with Brittney). Beyonce still looks good, though. Kelly gave her a run for her money, despite obvious instructions: Remember who's the star here---hint: NOT YOU---and remember whose acting career Jason Voorhees killed off 10 years ago. These halftime shows can't all be Bruce, I guess. At least this one didn't fall into the depths of the Black Eyed Peas. Has to be tough coming up with someone good.
Da fuq are you talking about? She's one of the biggest stars in the world. How is Jay-Z keeping her out of oblivion?
Yeah, it was probably the opposite. Jay-Z's music career was near a downward slide, till he finally decided to "put a ring on it". He's been clinging to the artists on his label as well. Seems like he can't put out a hit unless someone else is featured on it.
She's one of the biggest stars in the world but when was the last time she had a hit??? Like I said earlier they should have given the half-time show to Rihanna... Why Rihanna you ask?
