Amen. Haters are not only unobjective but label everyone as LOH if they show any support of Lin at all. It's weird that based on the all star votes Lin is one of the most popular players in the NBA but the boards all seem to be dominated by the haters. Anybody who wants to discuss our PG situation is afraid to say anything for fear of being labelled a "LOF". Frankly It's quite unproductive and discouraging.

Seeing as how right now we don't really have a qualified backup point guard - Beverley is too inexperienced, TD is really a SG and Harden is better at SG - 25 to 30 minutes is not enough PT. He should only come out for a rest or if he is playing poorly. For the good of the team he needs to play around 35 minutes on average.

The better Lin plays, the more PT he's going to get. He's averaging THIRTY THREE Minutes a game now(http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/4299/jeremy-lin), and you are seriously arguing over 2 more minutes a game???

He's been progressively getting better so I dont see where the problem will lie moving forward. Lin isn't going anywhere as the starter, and he's getting a bounty of minutes now even as an unfinished product. As a finisher its all up to him to do what the coaches are wanting him to do late in games.

Its only been a few games where he has been pulled late, so I really dont know what the big issue is.

I think Lin fans on here are just being way too sensative about minutes at the end of games, and feel like its some dire emerengency they have to address, and justify by knocking down TD/Beverly/Harden.

Exactly! I'm not a Lin only fan, I'm a Lin fan. And I'm a Harden fan. And a Chandler fan. And an Asik fan. And a Rockets fan.
If Parsons was being misused, distrusted and doubted unfairly and McHale had a thing for starting Mook as a SF and sitting Parsons for every mistake and not allowing him to play in the 4th with no better results from Mook, I'd be up in arms over that too cuz I know what he can bring and what Mook cant, even though he may have had some bad games and turnovers after his shoulder injury. But it's not our other guys. It's Lin that's always being maligned consistently.

I love Asik but if the roles were reversed and Lin was the center who kept causing turnovers, missed passes, and had no offensive game (which I dispute btw. I think Asik has potential on offense as well), he'd be killed and everyone would talk about how turnover prone he was and how he was over paid. That he was a liability. I'm so sure of it. And if Asik was the pg who had excellent games here and there, scored 38 pts against the Spurs, showed the ability to control te tempo, penetrated and dished like Lin did and had a great transition game, all his faults would e explained off as him haing his first full year as a starter and would be embraced by everyone. The double standard is ridiculous.

Lin is 3rd in steals, and his synergy numbers on defense is great-> so what, people say. He gambles and he sucks. He's a turnstile on defense.
Lin penetrates all night long in many many games -> so what, people say. He can't go left.
Lin improves his game, improves his percentages, improves his shooting -> so what, people say. He's wildly inconsistent. Let's see him do that for a year straight.
Lin as the 3rd option on offense averages like only 2 pts less per game than Gogi -> so what, people say. Gogi is awesome. Lin's barely better than TD. (I always liked Gogi, btw)

Man, what a downer. It sucks to have someone you like be dissed so much out of bias. Lin can't go left. Lin can't play defense. Lin can't shoot. Lin is turnover prone. Jeez. People make him sound like he's r****ded, and dude still puts up 38 against the Lakers and Spurs.

The BIG issue is we usually lose when Lin OR Asik is pulled late. It also is bad for their confidence if they're playing well and get benched. A prime example of this is the first game McHale coached after coming back from his extended leave of absence. Lin played 18 minutes and Asik 20 and both sat the entire 4th Q against Dallas at home and we lost. It's been happening all year to a lesser degree even as recent as the Denver game. Please tell me why ROCKETS fans would not question this bizarre coaching.

If you don't know what the big whoop is, let me explain it as simply as possible.
There is a right way to play the game and a wrong way to play the game. There's a better way to win games and ways not to play the game. I'm postulating that McHale is playing Lin wrong, and it's leading to losses imo. Not only Lin, but in so many instances our starters minutes were so mismanaged that in a blowout harden was still playing out there in the front end of a back to back. Multiple times! Of course, it's all just conjecture from a basketball fan and I may be wrong, but I feel enough conviction to put it out there either out of frustration or in the hopes that somehow my voicing out will magically help right the ship. Either way, I'm just being a fan.

Furthermore, noone I know has knocked Beverley due to Lin, as far as I know, and knocking Harden for Lin is just silly. Don't lump EVERY Pro-Lin post into one cuz I don't consider every anti-Lin poster as Dei. Btw, I think Dei sees Lins game correctly but just hate the Lin fans, but anyways my point is I love Harden, Chandler, and Asik. Where is all this hate that you're seeing in your mind? Cuz I said that TD is not a pg? Cuz I said that a pg creates a flow that is necessary for a team to win consistently? Well, IMO, a pg's responsibility to create an offensive flow for the team is just as important as a sg's ability to score or a Center's ability o control the paint and provide defense. Should I not care whether we lose or not?

Let me get this straight. You are convinced that the Rockets coaching staff, made up of many coaches all with decades of coaching/playing experience, are wrong. Based purely on your amateur basketball knowledge with no inside information on the locker room and the input of players, no coaches film to analyze, no army of scouts and statistical experts to help you make your conclusion. Instead, your conclusion is based upon watching some Rockets games on TV using the TV feed with info given by commentators whose jobs are to entertain.

And then you talk about not wanting to hypothetically hire people who aren't knowledgeable enough in the field?

I don't know what your job is, or what business you run. But I'm quite certain the people in charge in the company are more likely to be right in their work than random people on the internet.

He was responding to someone who said TD was a better starting PG than Lin. I doubt the coaches feel the same way as that poster. Said poster was probably a troll too.

If the Rockets coaches disagree with that statement, and he believes the Rockets coaches are wrong in their judgement of our PGs, wouldn't that mean he would agree with the opinion that Lin and Douglas are similar?

First off, I was talking about posters or trolls that claim TD and Lin are the same caliber players AS pgs.
Second, are you saying that coaches and management are never wrong and you've never criticized a coach or management and thought you are right?? Or is this another biased comment due to this being about Lin. Really? No one could be right about basketball matters if they're not professionals? Coaches/management are alway more right than their fans?? Really.

Man, you guys. I'm not trying to go against all of you guys but your biases are showing. And your logic is failing you when it comes to matters dealing with Lin. Not you per se, just in general.

I don't disagree with you but it's the reality of the situation. I didn't say TD was better than Lin, I said Lin was seen as a player whose talents are on the same level as TD. Do you not remember some of the things Sampson said about Lin?

As the season has progressed, Lin's game has improved. When he earns the trust of the coaching staff, he'll be able to travel/make dumb mistakes/have 4+ TO's like Parsons/Harden, and get to stay in the game.

Of course McHail think that way. If not because Lin has so much fans, he would start TD and benched Lin until he rioted.

Anyway. If McHail is smart, he should play both Beverley and TD as they are backup for Lin and Harden. They should get 8 to 15 minutes per games. There is really no reason to push 40+ minutes for harden and try to depress Lin's minutes. Harden and Lin plays well together now and they should be in the court together as well as taking break together.

I think this rotation is better and will help develop the backup guards:

Lin and Harden first 8 to 10 minutes, then Beverley and TD for the next 2 to 6 minutes. Lin and Harden first the 2nd quarter. Repeat for the 2nd half. If a blowout, rest Lin and Harden early and let TD and Beverley have the garbage time.

Need a backup center too. It seem like if Asik is out, no one can grab a rebound. Give DMo time to develop.

I don't hate Mchale!!!!!!! Jeez. I never said that Mac is ALWAYS wrong!!!!!
He's right in many things and knows more about basketball than you will ever know. I get that. But, does tht mean he can never be wrong???? Jeez guys. What is up with the defensive attitude?? You've never questioned a coach before??
I swear someone should do a psychological paper on Lin and the hate he gets.

Lin should NEVER play anything more than 38 minutes per game, and even that might be stretching it. The guy has conditioning issues (*cough needs to work on this summer) and always sucks on the 2nd game of a back to back.

It's because most people have been reading the Bleacher Report grading analysis. Now, before you guys say Bleacher Report?!?!? you read that! I can almost guarantee you that most of the LOHs in here follow the same mentality. Say for example when Lin was instrumental in getting us the 120 point games playing PG, Bleacher Report would give him a B-. And when Harden has 7 TOs but scored 22 points, they would give him a B+. LOH's mentality fall in line w/ this.

And you did see the 7 game losing streak where Lin was regulated right? No ball movement, the team could barely score 80 points. Even Matt Bullard was saying that these games were just painful to watch.

And he's coming off an injury. But never is such a strong word. I think the minutes he plays is fine. It's just the distribution for it and who could give him that rest without too big of a drop in offensive flow. Yesterday was a good example. Mac had Lin come back when things were going wrong both times. I'd have put in Beverley. I also don't like when he does that with Parsons. He keeps sitting him only to bring him out again back and forth till Chandler gets lost.

Harden too. We really dont want to tire him out cuz I'm gonna take a little guess and say that we're gonna call his number a lot more come playoff time. Knock on wood. A soft 36 minute cap on minutes for all our players should help Mac give more time to our other players.

The PG mintues can never be distributed "properly" because, let's fact it, there will always be LOFs complaining no matter what:

    1. Lin playing less minutes: why coaches no like Lin?
    2. Lin playing big minutes: why coaches riding Lin to the ground? he still recovering from injury!
    3. Lin substituted same time as Harden: why coaches no staggering Lin's minutes???
    4. Lin pulled out early in the quarter: why coaches no confident in Lin and yank him the fist time he make a mistake???
    5. Lin sits in a blowout: why coaches no let Lin stay to pad his stats while Harden can???
    6. Lin plays in a blowout: why coaches risk Lin's career???

I'm sure I missed something else. But you get the point.
