Sounds like a progression of Loveless with a few new tricks added in...until the last 3 songs. And then, I can see the drum and bass influence along w....omg Sepultura! Track 7 is like Soon from loveless but with more drum and bass beats. Track 8 is pure noise and does sounds like Kevin Sheilds was into that kind metal like Sepultura. And the closer combines the two sounds into something that.....I cannot understand just yet!!! And it all sounds like it's getting sucked into a vaccum cleaner! As the legend goes!! Imo, it is better than loveless.
better than loveless! thats a bold statement sir! its definitely better than chinese democracy though. alot of it reminds me of the stuff on the gilder and tremolo eps - same vibe and sounds as loveless, but a little more sparse and direct. the first few songs sound like they could have been on isnt anything. overall, its a pretty diverse collection - few mid-tempo chuggers, some ambient, droney stuff then some noisy beat-driven weirdness. you can definitely hear the influence of playing with primal scream on the last few tracks. and i agree about the metal vibe too.
Caught Eli Young Band in concert this week and the opening act was a band from Tennessee called The Cadillac Black. Just some good, straight-up Southern Rock. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/uavx_GNG9wA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I tried listening to MBV's new album off their Youtube channel but some of the sounds are too much like Flying Saucer Attack for me to handle. FSA are interesting but a no go as I get a headache/nausea from their music.
Only listened to she found now like 4 times in a row, if the rest is just as good than this is going to be one of my favs of the year.
